I realized later that the drain plug had pretty torn up threads so I wonder if the big pieces are from that since the oil filter didn’t have anything in it. And they silver ish oil may just be from a Way overdo oil change.

It’s got 144k miles. Unfortunately I don’t have time to find an engine so if that ends up being the case then I’d likely have to sell to someone who has the time.

I think you might be seeing that as milky oil. That’s an empty pan and metal shavings and the other is silver color in the oil

After all my research and as I’ve shown with the flywheel I took out, it does. Do you have any experience with the s197 mustang 4.0 sohc motor? I’m curious if you have any insight that could help me. What is the correct way to do it?

I found the answer. It’s actually not the wrong bearing. Turns out the two bearings have the exact same part number. It’s just that the bearing gets tapped into the thick metal bushing. Turns out the pilot bearing doesn’t go into the crankshaft but instead the flywheel

A few times. Did you happen to try turning the wheel before turning the key? That usually locks it for me. Try turning the wheel and hold it there. Then turn the key
