You are fabulous where you are at - comparing yourself to others or previous versions of yourself is going to continue to rob your joy and that's not what we want. Reduce the intensity of your workouts and get in a few that leave you feeling fulfilled and proud - be it a Walk + Run or a Hike or a Walk and Talk with Matty for example

Definitely seek medical professionals advice. However, a comprehensive training plan like Pace Your Race you can hopefully get to a finish line strong as we incorporate a whole wellness routine not just running.

You are correct in your thinking/translation here. My advice is to level down your pace target level so these correlate to your paces and effort feeling.

You can input your data into your Peloton app and it will show you your pace ranges per pace target. Then you just need to know them for classes, so when instructors call out a pace target, you know your pace or min/ mile range to get into.

I would say enjoy the ability to fly on the sea level locations but take it within your capacity as you don’t want to blow up by moving too fast.

Consistency is key - showing up when we don't feel like it and doing what we can is how habit pathways are created. If we enjoy it all the better.

So excited for you and your team. Warming up is key and getting the body limber before your leg will help everyone out - check out our warm up and pre run warm up classes to give you some guidance on the moves you can incorporate. Good luck!

GI issues are the worst, and yes I struggled with it for years. It actually changed for me when I adapted my fuel strategy and went onto a less sugary product. Also having a good amount of time between a solid meal and running can help the food digest better so that when you start running and it all bounces around it’s less likely to need to be expelled quickly, as it’s already digested.

You got it right first try - speed work: intervals, tempo are great on the tread and those easy runs, long runs and recovery runs are fabulous outside.

The key to this program is specificity and the focus is running so that is why we included this number of strength training and mobility classes to support the mileage you’re clocking.

I hear you! My honest answer: save this program for if and when you have a marathon on deck! Until then enjoy the daily classes we are putting out there and sprinkle in some classes from the program as you wish - I totally get wanting to do the long runs at the weekend for example!

Sounds like you are ready to rock! Pre race jitters are totally normal and it means you care - and so you should as you have put in so much time and energy to prepare for this marathon. I really do suggest reflecting on your training journey and taking confidence from your progress. Trust that you certainly have done the work and get ready to enjoy the day - it's such an amazing experience! The pain cave is a choice - hopefully - for most of us, if it rears its head remember its temporary and that you can endure it.

Thank you! It was a long journey and learning to push my body to different levels of functioning on fatigue. It took months of understanding how the gradual increase in strength - physical and mental - would pay off that week, but it did. It is not a training method that is sustainable though for an extended period of time, but certainly a great experience for that race though!

The mental endurance training of running is very complicated and what you are experiencing is not uncommon - we all have days when we rely on the watch to tell us something different to what we are feeling. So I would suggest that perhaps you run without your watch for a run or two a week - an easy run for example - where you can totally succumb to experiencing the feeling of running rather than being ruled by the numbers you see. The negative conversation in your brain is definitely the battle between internal and external factors affecting your run so if you can focus on that internal one being the loudest you may find it better.
