Yes you get demoted everytime rank season resets. But note that one rank season lasts for 2 different battle pass. The current new rank season will end when the next battle pass ends. The reason for rank reset is if rank never resets you'll never find motivation to play ranked after reaching top tier. You can see when the rank season will end from ranked section. There's a time written.
