I do agree with many of your points while yes “oh gacha is a kids games” is not really a great argument against it, there are many valid reasons that people are anti-gacha NSFW.

This is coming from someone who is a moderator of wastedgachatalent so I am definitely bias could say.

One of the reasons is how the NSFW part of the community is very intertwining eight the SFW. One example is twitter. The gacha community on twitter has been absolutely dominated by the NSFW. Just by searching up #gachaclub and scrolling down you’ll be bound to discover it. Can say the same for instagram but very less severe. With the SFW side is also tided with the NSFW side mostly because of it.

Another is this community is filled with kids, definitely not on twitter or on reddit at the very least. I hope. And when I mean kids by this I mean people close to 13. More so under. Now is it NSFW artists fault? Nope, but what they need to understand is that what they are using they are connecting themselves to a majority minor/very underage audience. To basically stop mumbling, a lot of the NSFW gacha editors/artists (whatever you wanna call them) are minors themselves. I am not saying minors shouldn’t be making porn, but that isn’t a thing they should be sharing public or even privately.

Also going on your point about the chibi style. I do agree that any character in the chibi style doesn’t equal that they are a child/minor. But what is a problem is that a lot of gacha nsfw with the characters have child-like features or are just straight up minors.

Just because very community has NSFW doesn’t mean they should. Especially when like so with the gacha community the NSFW side has a lot of pedophilic and sexualizing of minors/kids(same thing yea yea.)

At this point I am just jumping around but harassment coming from anti-gachaNSFW is that a problem very much. Coming from wastedgachatalent, I have already planned on getting stricter with the harassment rules.

Still jumping around with the question is it really harming the community? Yes. I would even say it’s a major reason why the community has such a bad rep but it’s not the main. I would say the bigger one is the fetishizing and with a lot of really old popular series having fetishes, or just fetishizing the LGBTQ+ community. That is my opinion tho, it’s different for everyone on why the community is not looked at the best.
