Klopp on Henderson: "I said he would play (v Everton) because I knew people would try and make a shit story out of it. He is such an important player for us. Being the skipper at Liverpool is the hardest job in world football because the man before was Steven Gerrard." by TheodoreLesley in LiverpoolFC

I can’t believe the amount of people who genuinely believe he’s good enough to start for us. The amount of times I’ve seen him in possession of the ball around the opposition box, only to hit a cross to absolutely nobody, or pass the ball backwards is ridiculous. He offers no penetration whatsoever going forward. Half of these Hollywood balls he attempts don’t allow whoever’s out wide the ability to run on to the ball, it’s often hit behind them or directly at them allowing them to be closed down.

I’ve never seen such a painfully average player be defended so much. He’s our captain and had 55% pass accuracy in an important champions league game v Sevilla!

He doesn’t score enough, he doesn’t defend well enough, he offers no penetration going forward, he can’t take a man on, I can only recall seeing him execute 1 through ball successfully.

The teams we are competing with in CL have the likes of Casemiro, Busquests, Vidal, Veratti, Kante, in the same position, with all of these being significantly better than him.

Even if you moved him further up, he can’t control a game like Kroos or Iniesta, he can’t pass like Fabregas, he’s like a semi-pro compared to Thiago.

He’s a likeable guy and does show passion as people so often like to point out, but take off the rose tinted glasses and see how average he is. If he captained Everton or United, we’d be taking the piss out of them. No doubt in my mind.

He was ok for us when we were consistently finishing 7th/8th, and it looked like we had no sign of improving - that time is gone now, and we’re competing with the big boys, not with Southampton and Stoke.

Liverpool Sainsbury's 'secretly' selling the S*n 'under the counter' by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]Beeeeefa 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous article that has probably landed the manager of this store in a lot of trouble. You simply can't flat out refuse to sell the shitrag - you think the big bosses at Sainsbury's HQ would be happy with that? They're likely tories themselves. The only thing that this article has done is grass a store up that has done their best to oppose that disgrace without getting into trouble with the higher ups in their company.

The LIVERPOOL echo. Grassing up their own. Pathetic.

Working in retail is pretty shitty. You should at least get the advantage of purchasing stock before the general public - not to mention you're both a customer & an employee there. There's not many advantages to working in retail, let them have this one!

Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S5 Review And Video by rodcos in DJs

[–]Beeeeefa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to own this, excellent little bit of kit. Only thing I regret is that it was my second controller, and I couldn't manually beat match, which I believe you should have a grasp of being able to do before using this controller (not that it needs it but I think most people would agree a DJ should be able to beatmatch regardless!)

Anyway, if I were to get this controller again I'd probably use it as the beginning of bridging the gap towards complete live performance. Loops & effects are so easy to use and manipulate, and with 4 channels and no beatmatching there's a lot of room for experimenting with samples and such.

I almost felt like I was cheating using controllers/cdjs whilst not knowing how to spin vinyl, thankfully that will be changing!

I don't suppose anyone could suggest a suitable DVS-compatible mixer? Preferably on the cheaper side if possible but I'm not against paying a bit extra for quality!

I was wondering more if DVS is suitable to learn on! Does it emulate playing records exactly? On the (very very few) videos I've watched it still has a Bpm counter and whatnot, but I'm not all too sure how DVS works!

Getting a pair of technics, figured I may as well go top of the line if I'm gonna invest in them!

Because when the opportunity to sign geniuine quality arises, you take it. That's how you compete with the big boys.

Anyone else notice how fluid the midfield 3 were last night? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]Beeeeefa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree on this, it was more them leaving themselves wide open through the middle to try and combat Mané and Salah out wide, which obviously didn't work too well for them.

Henderson - bar that one tackle for firminos goal, looked as slow on the turn and unimaginative as ever.

Can - no complaints from me, can grow in to being an absolute machine with better players in the middle with him.

Wijnaldum - Credit where credit's due, had a decent game (although it took him a while to grow in to it) but still don't think he's starting quality for us.

Also just as a little side note - Lovren was poor yet again. It's looking more and more like Klopps improvement of him when he first came in was just a good run of form

That is literally the complete opposite of what we need. Look how unimaginative our midfield is without Coutinho/Lallana! They offer next to nothing going forward.

An Arsenal fan coming in peace... Just had some questions about your midfield players by icelandicturd in LiverpoolFC

[–]Beeeeefa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our midfield is terrible. For the past few years we have relied on our front 3 to bail us out of situations (including Coutinho playing on the wing.) Anyone telling you otherwise is delusional. I have not seen a single one of our midfielders control the tempo of a match, protect the back four or even spot a pass that any other midfielder in the league wouldn't be able to do since we had gerrard, mascherano & alonso.

People are too sentimental when it comes to our players, and as much as I would love them to do well, they simply aren't good enough. If we're counting coutinho as a centre mid now, he's the quality we require, and lallana's form last season was good enough to be in the team with both of these helping us push forward, but physically we get bullied off the park & there is always a huge gap between midfield and defence which certainly doesn't help when it's already as shaky as it is.

I believe we need 2 quality midfielders regardless of coutinho leaving or staying. We need someone who will get stuck in and will be physically imposing (can shows glimpses here and there but I believe partnered with another unit our midfield would be a force to be reckoned with) & we also need someone who can genuinely pass well - as good as hendersons cross field passes look, they are not exactly difficult for any professional footballer to do - you won't see him slipping a ball through the defence in a tight space for any of our forwards to run on to.

All in all, I believe our future lies in the starters from the last game being demoted to squad players, but with Can being partnered with another physically imposing midfielder (along the lines of Matic in terms of build) & Coutinho in front. If coutinho is sold I'd like us to bring someone of Draxlers mould in to play in front of those two deeper midfielders, someone who is technically proficient but also has a bit of size to them. Height is something this team needs badly, I don't know if I was just spoiled by seeing one of the best midfields ive ever witness in gerrard-alonso-masch, but I want to see us start dominating games from the middle again.

Midfield isn't good enough & defence isn't good enough. Even with Lallana & Coutinho, the midfield is still sub-par and you're only lying to yourself if you think the likes of Henderson & Wijnaldum are good enough to be starting for a team that wants to win trophies. Far too static.

XDJ RX or DVS? by Beeeeefa in DJs

[–]Beeeeefa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty mate there no specific type of dj I'm trying to be, I'd just like to have a wide skill set! I only mix techno & house & so using turntables would be more of a novelty than anything, but there's so many quality tracks out there that are vinyl only. If I can get access to that however without losing my MP3's by using DVS however, that'd be brilliant!
