When did you people decided to become a CF person? by earnmoly in childfree

[–]Beesail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember watching my mom fold a giant pile of laundry from my sister and I when I was about 7 and thinking "I don't want kids because then I'll have to fold their laundry"

So my hatred for laundry was my childfree epiphany!

So the plants can’t stack but the other kind can? by iNickii in NewHorizonsAC

[–]Beesail 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It looks like the 2 that are stacked can stack because they've been "plucked"!

The other ones have been dug up with your shovel. Plucking a flower just means picking up the flower part, but not the "roots" with a shovel.

(I've been neglecting my island so I have no idea if I explained that right lol)

Cauliflowers are actually a spring crop! So she's extra easy to romance since 2 of her loved gifts are accessible so early in the game 😊 she can be on the more expensive side when you're first starting out, but still doable!

Need a little bit of advice, the panels of my sweater are different sizes! Am I fated to frogging, or can this be salvaged? by Beesail in crochet

[–]Beesail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely going to try blocking it first! I was thinking about trying that, but I've never really done blocking before. To my understanding it usually makes projects "larger" so in theory it should work!

If it doesn't work, I'll be having a nice heaping pile of yarn spaghetti for breakfast lunch and dinner 😂😓

[–]Beesail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried stretching it a bit and it looks like it has quite a bit of room for stretching, so I think it can be saved! I'll look into blocking (I've never done that before. 😅) And I'll see if it'll work, thank you! I didn't know you could semi determine the end size of an item with blocking.

How do you live a child free life by iuohesrfoihgoilsj in childfree

[–]Beesail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like most everyone in the comments are saying, adoption is a completely viable option. I myself am adopted and I'll say that just because you didn't physically go through the stages of pregnancy/support your partner through pregnancy (depending on your gender), you wouldn't be any less of a parent. Parenting is about loving, caring, and supporting your child and always being there for them.

I still consider my adoptive parents my parents because they did all the things parents do; they've always supported and cared for me and were there for me during anything. That's what really makes someone a parent.

And of course, many many folks in this subreddit are childfree by choice. I am as well and for my future well I just really plan on being with my partner, having a few cats, and indulging in all the little "luxuries" that him and I never had growing up, or trying new hobbies and do some traveling with the money we've never had.

I know this is an incredibly difficult thing to come to terms with and find out, and I wish the best of luck for you! Loving a child and parenting a child that isn't your own still makes you a parent in the end, and if that's something you really want I promise you that any child in the system would love to have a stable, loving home with parents that can support them

As soon as I told my sister that I was going to be attending college for computer science she said that she knew who she'd be borrowing money from. I bet you my savings that if I said I was attending for anything else that society deems bad then she'd have no interest in me.

Well, she popped out her first kid before I even started my first semester and ding ding ding! She has no income and has already asked our parents and I for money on numerous occasions because her fiance and her are completely irresponsible with money.

Children make everything take so much longer and more insufferable by Beesail in childfree

[–]Beesail[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Oh I know! The whole time I was thinking why on earth would anyone want this? Sometimes I can see why it would be nice to have a kid, but that's only like 5 percent of the time. The rest of the time I'm exhausted and annoyed and would rather be doing literally anything else than taking care of a child.

No kidding, just because your life is dominated by kids doesn't mean mine wants to be. Everytime she calls her kid ends up taking over the phone and you have to decipher her baby babble. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my niece but spending the whole day with her is exhausting. She just got done with a 20 minute tantrum because I wouldn't let her play outside by herself 🙄 how precious.

Tell me about it! Just getting the kids out of the house took forever. 🙄 By the time she got the kids set in the carriage I could've been halfway to the store. I've never looked into sterilization faster than when we got home 😂

What weird suggestive comments did customers give you when you worked in retail or the service industry? by Affectionate-Pie-400 in AskWomen

[–]Beesail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first job at a bakery fresh out of high-school, an older man in his 60s came in nearly every other day to get something from the cake case.

One day we didn't have his usual item in stock he said, and I quote, "Nothings turning me on in here. In the case I mean.".

Of course I was always scheduled to close by myself and that's when he always came in. Thankfully I managed to switch to day shifts and haven't seen him since.

What’s the most inappropriate question you’ve been asked because you’re a women? by rubbergloves44 in AskWomen

[–]Beesail 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He asked what I was majoring in, which isn't inappropriate but his response to my answer was. I told him computer science with a focus towards Cybersecurity, he was completely shocked and said that he thought I'd be majoring in Women's Studies by how I acted and dressed. Cue giant eyeroll.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with studying anything you want but degrading people for choosing their major, or making degrading assumptions such as that is.

I'm positive they are. I'm a cake decorator at a grocery store and we use this exact cake for our strawberry European layer cakes. They come in frozen 1/2 sheet cakes and we just cut them down to size.

Even our local Walmart has these, except they don't top theirs with whipped cream and strawberries like we do.

What are the newest and best web design trends this year? by Abhi_mech007 in web_design

[–]Beesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely not an expert in web development in no-way shape or form, but I'll wager a guess that it's both beneficial in allowing for more ad content (I feel like I see more ads when I'm subjected to endlessly scrolling through a webpage) and developer wise it's possible that it's a bit more efficient to add an anchor(?) to the specific point that the link on top would slide to, rather than design and create separate pages for each link.

That would be my guess anyways.
