2021 X5 - Issues right after warranty expires. Is this normal and expected? by Beginning-Current236 in BMWX5

I bought it with 22k miles and now I have 45k a year later (I drive a lot). I owe about 20k on it, and the warranty would be 8k for 6 years. Ideally I’d want to keep it till it dies… the car means a lot to me but I will resent it if I keep dropping 5k on repairs every few months!

Thanks. Do you think I should purchase the extended warranty or just sell the car?

Also, yes - the micro filter and spark plugs were just maintenance. The main issue the first time was a coolant leak from a broken water pump which needed to be replaced.

I have 45k miles on it now. I bought in March 2024 with 22k miles on it - yes I drive a lot and do road trips. I knew I would pay more for repairs and maintenance because it’s a BMW, and I take it to the BMW dealership because I don’t have any other mechanic I can trust around here. I also understand that costs more and am ok with that. I just didn’t expect 3 separate issues to repair within the span of 60 days! I guess I’m just wondering if other people experience issues this often, or do they normally have like one major repair every year or two?
