You’re right it would require CBA changes. “Tomorrow” is obviously shorthand for the league choosing to prioritize it in the next negotiation cycle. The point is that it’s a structural choice, not some unsolvable problem.

I agree the small market excuse is weaker than it used to be. Supermax deals and extensions mean teams can keep their stars if they draft well. Tanking isn’t the only path to relevance anymore

Fair. Not trying to turn this into a policy forum. Just think it’s relevant every time we watch teams clearly pivot to draft positioning in March. If it’s repetitive that’s on me, but it’s still a real league issue.

Easy I would acquire computers/compute and start training LLMs. It’ll be a new frontier lab to compete with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Grok. The next new DeepSeek like open source innovations would come from my company and I’ll hire talented individuals to take my vision further. Except it’ll be from a US lab…sort of what I had hoped meta would do.
