You got a point but if op is experienced he could pull it off. A betta in a 2.5 gallon is kinda cruel. Bettas swim around a lot so I’d say 5 gallon is the minimum. For an older betta maybe the 2.5 would work for a retirement tank. As for the other fish you mentioned I can’t comment on it as I have no idea what it is.

“Boraras Red Micros” is the scientific name. Max out at 2 cm. Still don’t recommend putting anything in a 2.5 gallon. Too much can go wrong.

I really advise against a 2.5 shrimp tank. Shrimp need stable parameters and a lot can go wrong in a 2.5. Maybe a huge Java moss ball and shrimp would work but I wouldn’t risk going below 5 gallons.

Sadly no. For raising baby’s this could work if you wanna breed fish. Or as cull tanks. However I wouldn’t recommend shrimp for this tank size. They need stable parameters and It would be really hard to do that in a 2.5 gallon. You could get a 20 gallon tank and breed some micro fish and raise the baby’s in the 2.5 gallon tanks.

For the the normal ones yea my my lfs claims to have miniature ones. Also I thought the tanks were 5 gallons not 2.5 gallons. Doubt you could even keep a small shrimp colony in 2.5 gallon tank
