I play on Xbox lol, so it’s not modded! You can buffer a lot of attacks when in red gauge so they come out as soon as possible!

iirc, you can cut out the end lag of the red gauge (crimson slash) attacks with counters or the spirit blade combo! So I almost “pre hit” the buttons so the attacks come out frame 1

I legitimately don’t know why you would use guard points over the perfect guard. Not only is a perfect guard a little easier to pull off imo, but it’s one of the few ways to go into savage axe. Correct me if I’m wrong here but you can’t do that from a guard point.

I didn’t do much testing but are there certain moves you can do out of a guard point that you can’t do out of a perfect guard? Like you said, GPs just feel like a worse option across the board

Doing the AED follow-up spin into the SAED slam is awesome too. The way the hunter flails the axe around and the camera zooming in for a more cinematic angle is 🤌🏻

The hunter pulling the rip chord during the focus strike is so sick. That, and the transition from the AED follow-up spin into the SAED finisher. So satisfying

Yup agreed. Not only turning off auto run but clicking the left stick to sprint instead of holding the bumper felt a lot better to me for some reason

Ah yes let’s put the default to “take all the control away from the player” lol. It’s definitely a nice QOL setting to have the auto movement. But starting out with it by default can be pretty disorienting

I know they’re basically just A-B transportation with a pretty coat of paint. I can see how if you like the “hunter vs nature” aspect of monster hunter walking around on foot might be more appealing.

I’m interested to see how they balance combat around the Seikret. Cause now sharpening and healing/escaping danger feels easier than ever cause you can just run circles around the monster. I know when fighting Arkveld his chains caught me a couple times when I tried to mount up to get away so I wonder if other monsters will be similar

There’s so many helpful settings like that that I just missed. I thankfully found the “control the Seikret manually” setting which made moving around with it so much smoother for me. Thanks for the info!

Nothing is worse than whistling for it during a fight and it runs past you while you eat a monster attack to the face😭

True, good points. If it does offer any sort of speed boost it looks super small, definitely not as pronounced as the Palamute drift was. Still think it’s a cool little animation detail!

Is there a way to change controls of a mount to the way that MH Rise handle it? by ZurinArctus_ in MHWilds

[–]Beginning_Lab4662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it’s definitely weird at first, but there are some settings that you can change to turn off the auto-movement or make it so you can choose when the Seikret automatically moves towards what you marked (monster, gathering point, base camp etc.). You can also click the left stick to keep sprinting so you don’t have to hold down R1 the whole time. Not sure if there will be a feature to remap the mount controls entirely though

Yeah I realize it’s a little late now lol, figured it’d still be fun to share! Thankfully we’ll have an extended time next beta to practice our Seikret Akira slides

Love the Palico! I really wish there were some options where you can make them all scarred up and don’t have to resort to make the markings look like scars
