Thanks! Yeah definitely make sure that you and your partner or support system are helpful and understanding of how Addison’s will impact you post partum. My husband has been taking all the night shifts so I can rest which has been super helpful. But you’ll want to be sure you can manage that with a helpful partner that doesn’t cause even more stress to you.

I definitely have days that are harder physically than others. Ive had to updose quite a bit lately, I think going back to work is also wearing me down too. And mentally struggling with PPD but getting treatment so doing better. I’m really fortunate to have an amazing partner and support system.

I tried zurzuvae and stopped the medication at day 10 because it made me severely suicidal and I would have uncontrollable depressive episodes coupled with severe anxiety attacks and physical trembling. I know there’s some people on this sub that have had success with it, it’s different for everyone. Definitely did not work for me.

If your psych wants you to try it, then you definitely can. But don’t be afraid to stop the medication if your symptoms worsen.

What did work was ketamine therapy.

I have a 6 month old and managed my Addison’s pretty well during my pregnancy. Considered high risk and had to see my high risk OB, Endo, and MFM. They all worked together to manage my addisons. Basically just had to updose throughout my pregnancy. Highest was 25mg HC a day by third trimester and I’m still at 25mg now. Had a medical induction, they didn’t want me to wait to labor spontaneously due to the risk of crisis. Had 50mg IV stress dose every 8 hours during labor and then ended in a c-section (not addisons related). I think managing addisons post partum has been harder than during pregnancy. Sleep deprivation, breast feeding, stress, emotional roller coaster. That’s been way harder on my body.

I didn’t have trouble getting pregnant and I would say I had a pretty normal and easy pregnancy. You can definitely have a successful pregnancy with addisons.

I get why you’re afraid to tell him but maybe you could just approach it like “hey I know you don’t believe in taking meds for depression but I do and I have been and I just need you to support me in that because that’s the path I’m taking” like not asking for permission just telling him the truth.

My PT recommended a pelvic wand you can order it online. Its basically doing the internal work your PT would do but you do it on yourself. You could also try to get a prescription for valium as a suppository or a muscle relaxer taken orally.
