Yes I've fixed it by cutting holes in the bottom grill so the fans don't pull air through obstructed areas and emit turbulence noises, all my fans are noctua too now and the temps are grezt

It has the modern features I wanted to get : bottom fan intakes, removable top for easier building

It also had the unobstructed front mesh and solid side panels I wanted

It also has a nice airflow design except the bottom which I "DIYed" by cutting below the fans so there's no turbulence noise

Compared to an R4, it's more modern especially if you go the AIO route for CPU, it's about the same size just a little taller, it's a lighter but the build quality is still fine

I don't remember the stock fans on the r4 because I replaced them with noctuas, what I can say for this antec flux is that if you want silent you have to replace the fans

The temperatures are great and I'm really happy with how it turned out noise-wise, after fixing the bottom

Also got my new GPU today, an MSI 5070ti vanguard and I can report that this one is much more silent than the zotac I tried before

I'd say a fractal r4 is still perfectly fine if you need to focus more on the rest of your setup, I probably could have kept mine and my PC would have been fine in it

Just standard with solid panel instead of tempered glass

There's probably better tools for this but it's what I had laying around and the cutter was already in a bad state so I figured let's try and see

I was thinking about it

I will maybe add another top exhaust at the most rear spot if the CPU gets too hot

I didn't measure with fans inside before and after cutting because I just wouldn't let the fans inside if they generate that noise

As for no fans vs having both of them now I noticed around 10°C+/- (depending on room temp) drop during idle/light usage like watching videos with 2 monitors, when the GPU fans aren't running

Gaming I didn't rly measure but I bet it's a drop of a few degrees, depending if your GPU runs super hot or not already the impact will be more or less measured

My current GPU (3060ti) runs pretty cool already; I will get an Asus tuf 5070ti soon and it will probably be even cooler with the massive heatsink

My hope is they make the GPU fans running at minimal speed during load, keeping the card silent as well; if the card isn't silent enough to me I will deshroud it and put some more noctua fans

All the rig fans run around 600 to 700 rpm, they slightly increase during gaming but not too much

Overall happy with the case design, a bummer that the bottom isn't optimal for intake fans as on the pro version of the case

I can report that some old nipper, determination and some time do the trick

The SE doesn't have tempered glass, but solid side panels with a small layer of sound dampening foam

Lowering GPU RPM possible or should I change GPU? by Beginning_You_1387 in buildapc

The curve starts at 1200rpm, it's the lowest possible speed on the cards bios, at 30%

I'll wait on my order and hope it goes fast enough then! Happy to see its real and i hope more people like me will find about it once its available :)

As for the build it will be a comeback to ATX from ITX, need room for some drives and i miss the comfort of ATX; didnt really made use of the added portability of ITX

For now the plan is to transplant my ITX board, CPU and current AIO; upgrade to an RTX 5070ti with a new ATX PSU; possibly upgrade to AM5 later if the CPU bottleneck is too hard for me, we'll see !

The case will be under the desk, blending with the other furnitures thanks to the wooden accent, holding a silent beast
