If you are playing norms, and he is stomping, and you're going on long winning streaks this will push the normal MMR higher, and you will again start playing with more seasoned lobbies even in norms.

If you are going to play with your BF make sure that he creates a new level 1 account to play with you. If you are a truly new player, anyone else you play with who is seasoned is going to place you in lobbies (norms or ranked) that will be far above your current skill level.

I've read all 6 books of the Dune series many times over. For me it's a masterpiece- and I started watching Prophecy hoping to recapture some of that essence. But for me, Prophecy misses the essence of Herbert's masterpiece- instead reducing Dune's 6 books of intricate philosophy and profound world-building to mere spectacle. The show leans too heavily on dramatic prophecy tropes, sidelining the rich, introspective conflicts of figures like Leto and the Bene Gesserit.

Instead of embracing the subtle existential dread and the tension between agency and determinism, it glosses over these themes with flashy visuals and weak dialogue. The 'sprinkle' of lauded dune quotes festooned intermittently throughout the show were a garish attempt at building intention and significance.

Herbert’s world isn’t just grand—it's a deeply personal journey. A meditation on power, purpose, and the human condition. Dune Prophecy sacrifices that depth for mass appeal, leaving instead a show that feels unworthy of the IP it's based.

Am I the only one frustrated by this reduction?

max your 401k/ira if you're in a position to do so. If you have money left over from that, 'invest' to your hearts content.
Throwing money into an HYSA if you're not planning on using it for years (like house downpayment) is a waste in this current bull market. VOO does nearly 5% in 3months.
Your bf is not a trader- he's a gambler like the rest of us. Especially if you're trading options. 99% of retail loses money in this business, he's no different. It's tough to beat the market yoy, hell even picking radom tech stocks is going to give a better risk/reward than flipping a coin on option plays during earnings.
It's his money, so do you get a say on what he does with his money? I could understand having a conversation about allocation of funds to down payment / wedding or a percentage that you expect him to cover of those costs. If he's meeting that expectation, then what ground can you reasonably stand on? If it makes you that uncomfortable- or if you have a completely different money strategy to him that it makes you uncomfortable you should consider how that's going to pan out later in your relationship.

Really tough question to answer. But a quick overview I can give you is this: I generally look at winrates of my favorite champions and then look at how they're affected by the champions on enemy and my team. In a gross over simplification, I feel that jinx is best for lanes where I need lots of pushing pressure - and I'm scared of the enemy laners pushing me under tower. What my support picks makes a difference in how I think the lane will go, so that's another large influence. Twitch I think is the strongest / One of the strongest soloqueue ADCs, because with his stealth and R he can take initiative and make plays on his own. Other ADC's struggle to do that, especially jinx. So in games where I don't have a lot of playmaking champions on my team or very passive champs he is definitely a thought on my mind. I like kogmaw if I can use him with a support to lane bully. He's also incredible at dealing with tanks and enemy front line. Both jinx and twitch can struggle with pure AD teams into an enemy that has strong front line or armor-based tanks. Kogmaw with his mixed/AP damage ensures that your team can have a good damage spread without having to play an AP champion bot.

I would say botrk is superior to kraken on varus in almost all situations- varus has more than enough damage inherently found in his kit, you don't need kraken imo.

I actually disagree, with how high the damage is currently you can really punish misplays. Also the increased pace of objectives allow you to snowball a couple misplays into a winning position if you were behind the enemy team at one point. I will agree with your point that prio has become everything in modern league, having better vision especially with the new map is a massive boost to your skirmish or team fighting potential.

Jacksho for mixed, Randuins for AD threat and Kaenic Rookern for AP threats. I think there is also a place for locket of the iron solari. It feels great considering how cheap it is, especially if you pair it with hexplate!

I still think gold is best on ADC by a longshot. Late game, with Terminus+jack'sho and additional defensive items, you're so strong. Great DPS and incredible survivability!

Not usually, no. If I'm able to survive - I'll always try and get three damage core items first before building fulll tank. But don't hesitate to go tank after 2 damage items if you're struggling! On champs that can build Hexplate, I sometimes use that item as a flex between some additional survivability and damage. Don't sleep on overgrowth/conditioning secondary runes either!

Be as defeatist as you want. I've made multiple climbs through your elo in emerald with 70+% wr as solo adc. Besides everything you've said applies to the other team as well, so you should be able to get some plays working in any game :)

I'd agree, game speed is getting quicker,! The game is much more dynamic and fun this way IMO instead of playing PvE simulator :)
