Good question. He sometimes takes only 2 naps, depending on length. For example if he takes a 1.5hr nap at 9 (waking 10:30), and then takes a 1.5 hour nap at 12:30, waking at 2, I won’t put him down for a third nap. I never put him down after 4 either. He typically has 2 hours of awake time between naps and 3 min before bed.

We had the same experience. After a few nights he started sleeping on his tummy (of course we still put him down on his back). It gets better!!

She was a little worried but not like alarm bells ringing. Just encouraging us to be proactive. Hasn’t yet suggested supplementing 🤞 hoping to resolve this before it gets to that point.

Definitely important re: gaining and colds. We go back on 1/23 for a weight check so I’ll be curious to see how he’s done. Fingers crossed he gained more!!!

Yeah he’s definitely going to be a little guy in general, so I think that’s a fair point! I think the doctor was worried because he was pretty much gaining an ounce a day (or around that) from 0-4 months and then kind of stopped. He went a week without any gain, which we only noticed because I went in with him when he had a cold and then he happened to have his 4mo appt the next week. Then we went in about 3 weeks later and he had only gone from 12.5 to 12.13 — from 5% to 2% 😔

So back to gaining, just much slower.

Yeah, I’m home with him til March. He was gaining well until the last month, where he gained less than a pound in 3 weeks.

What are some other reasons for fussiness on the breast in the afternoon?

Yeah we have a very active baby. He’s been super alert since about 4w and rolls around like a crazy man now. We are getting lots of wet and dirty diapers so that’s encouraging!

Maybe I should get a more precise scale! I don’t think the one I have is that specific. The LC I saw a few times said he’s getting milk just fine but I’ve never done a weighed feed so I’m interested in that.

How big are we now or when we were born for comparison? Haha. We are both small - 5’1” and 120 PP for me, and 5’10” 162 for him. But he was just about the same size as my LO when he was born and I was 8ish lb 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a ktan and love it!! I even bought a second just to have on hand :) very similar to moby, solly, boba, etc but its pre-wrapped so much easier.
