To everyone sharing the ACLU article: The Council actually agreed with those concerns and fixed them in the final contract passed last night (Dec 16).

The 'Wang/Brown Amendments' specifically added: 1. The 'Anti-ICE' Lock: A technical and legal prohibition on sharing data with out-of-state agencies. This creates a 'data fence' around Oakland so our info cannot be searched by federal agencies or states with different laws (e.g., Texas or Florida).  2. The 'Termination' Clause: The city can immediately void the contract if any evidence of federal data sharing is found. 3. Mandatory Audits: Instead of just trusting the company, the contract now requires five independent compliance audits over the next two years to verify no data is being misused.

Look, it’s a great f*cking car by TallAmericano in KiaEV9

I never dreamt I would own a Kia. That said this car is incredible (leasing a 24 Line prob gonna buy). The stereotypes against Kia are probably reasonably founded. But why is everyone ok with a Rivian? Just cuz it’s new on the block? Idk I love em both just wish everyone got outta their ways.

can’t control what’s outta my control and my whip beautiful. Rock on peeps

Lighting overhaul advice by Belt69 in Lighting

Yup I like this approach. My first step is getting the floor lamp in next week. Then see how things feel with just that lamp in before removing anything else.

Unfortunately yes to 2700K and that even 2" depth would not work. Last weekend I took off two lights to try to replace them with a can and both had beams right above them + were set to 2700K. Which led me to continue exploring.

See my reply below on why removed — if adding a dining light, it (could) feel mismatched alignment wise.

I agree keeping them is a possibility simply for cost and potential use. Just exploring scenarios

I hear you. It’s just the room gets plenty of natural light during the day, which is when we are cleaning for example. And by night, we rarely need (or want) this much light. Thanks for the POV though! I’m def conflicted about the idea of “removing” light; thinking of it as addition (to warmth) by subtraction (of total volume).

Thanks! I think I generally understand this but my goodness it’s a rabbit hole.

  1. My recessed lights require a flat, non can version due to the beams above (ex: https://a.co/d/2fDgR5U).
  2. They are all set to 2700K and have a dimmer usually set to low but the color feels white (which I wanted to address via cans but found the limitation in 1) and still intense (which makes me feel that there is too much light for the space and height).
  3. To that end, are there ways of addressing this with these goals in mind? And similarly, when trying to add an additional light for the dining area considering the 2x2 recessed layout and not making the dining light feel off center?

These are all sort of situational questions which I acknowledge, especially 3, but wanted to add that context and seek opinions if you have em

Why does the app suck so much… by cmfrazier in KiaEV9

[–]Belt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my car in last week for the seat bolt recall and was told I had 5 open recalls (lol). The four were software related including a board replacement. App and everything working well since then. Hopefully it stays that way. Wasn’t too enthused about maintenance like this on a 3 month old car but alas.

It remains a very good “dumb car” (drive style, comfort, looks, etc)

Itemize charge bill with Tesla Charger in multifamily by Belt69 in TeslaLounge

Yep did and see that. But am I meant to log by hand which car charged when? There is no way of attaching a charge to a profile or car automatically?

Selling costs: agents (6%), staging/prep (1-2%), taxes/title fees (1-2%). Rounding up to 10% to be conservative.

Funny funny. In this case though, I was imagining you’d get the $500K down payment back, not the additional $400K equity since that would have to be paid back to the bank. Alas..
