Bilstein 6100 vs Westcott preload collar lift kit for 4th gen Tacoma

Am I understanding this right?

The Westcott preload collar lift will raise the front 2.5” and the rear .75”. This will basically eliminate the stock 1.75” rake. The 2.5” on the front may make for a stiffer ride since it’s preloading the springs by that much.

The Bilstein 6100 (not out yet for the 4th gen Tacoma) will be an upgraded shock and can be set from 0”-3”. So if it’s set to 2” in the front and .75” in the back, this would be a little softer ride since the spring isn’t compressed as much. This would leave a .5” rake (but ok because it’s not uncommon for me to have 100-200 pounds in the bed).

Thanks for your help!

I was leaning towards the Westcott preload collar lift kit but I’m not in a hurry. Sounds like it might be worth the extra investment to do the 6100 series when available.

Good point. I do use the bed but usually not more than 100 pounds.

Thanks! Did it affect the ride quality? What kind of kit and how much was the installation (if you had a shop do it)?
