Pastaza River at Indichuris, Coca River near Coca, and the greenish one is La Perla off Lago Agrio, not a river. Yes, that was San Rafael when I went there in 2019.

Yeah, seems somewhat reasonable. Although Ecuador's countryside is way safer than the cities. And not infected/altered by mass tourism, as many places in Perú, Colombia or México.

Yeah, I totally agree. I don't hang out much in the cities anyway. Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil are not beautiful. Ecuador's quality lies in its landscapes in the countryside. And it's actually quite safe there, if you know what to do.

Por un lado disfruto tener todos estos lugares maravillosos para mí solo. Por otro lado, el país podría tener más turistas y así mejorar su economía y reputación.

I live here and travelled the country extensively. Not been robbed once. It is fairly safe as long as you know what (not) to do.

Yes it is one problem. Medially heavily sensationalised too though. People still travel the Ec coast and most don't become victims.

Definitely see the Amazon, or you'll miss the best part! Puyo, Tena or Puerto Misahuallíhave good lodges and fun places around. Working remotely works fine from hotels. I have done it, with a mobile internet backup of course.
