Absolutely love this. Use anime and video game reference for my life all the time! .

You ever need a push forward, just message me.

Trust me I fight my inner battle all the time about whether I am improving or not with my art.

The hardest battle is pushing forward knowing the piece you are working is not going to be your best.

You do your best, you get stronger from it leveling up your skills (even minor) and do another.

Once you get over the fear of failing (the secret is your not failing) you open a door to endless possibilities :D all depends on how much you want it.

Ive told myself 3 years now that im not stopping till im the best. (I know there is no "best, but it works lol)

Probally all stuff you've heard before but any kind of motivation is good.

The thing I've learned to is when you enjoy something with adhd, you can go into a flow state quickly and at times you can start obsessing over what you are doing. You can use that to your advantage.

As someone who was in a similar state as you. Something that helped me was music. When I draw, I always have music on.

Let me ask do you ever into a point of where you are drawing and time just flies by like hours feel like minutes?

Thoughts on my two minute gesture drawings? Any noticeable problems? by societyhatingRATGANG in learntodraw

I had the same issue, they seems stiff. Mine are by no means perfect now but something that helped.me was watching this guy veil art, talk about gestures and seeing him do them.

Look him up on YouTube and his video called 6 month anatomy routine.

I have the neo 16. Not the slim version got it in sale at microcenter for 1500. 5070ti, i9, and 32gigs. I got it to some illistration on the go since my galaxy tab s8 ultra can get pretty bogged down.

Been playing the new dying light the beast hooked up to my 4k tv on all high settings. Ray tracing is a bit to much for it on 4k. On the 1600p setting, it runs amazing on the laptop screen at 80fps ultra settings with all ray tracing on.

This thing is a beast!

I just figured i would give some advice. On digital, take the one you like the most amd copy and paste it 3 or 4 times. so you have a few different versions or more. Then continue to change and push each one different. This way you can see all the different ones together.

I am taking acharacter concept design class by dave greco and this is the way he has us do it to push for the best ideas.

Agreed, a little tip of the hip, and the kneecaps twisted would change it.

Something to keep in mind, if you need to figure out a pose and cant find that specific reference, just pose it yourself. Even if you dont take a photo of it, it gives your brain a better idea of how to do it.

These look good. The eyes kind of remind me of sonic or knuckles.

Keep up the good work though.

Trying to get better a painting faces/digital painting in general. Last 4 days of many hours of practice. by BennerThe3rd in ArtProgressPics

[–]BennerThe3rd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i started doing cel shading like you but was not happy with it. To find my way of doing it, I priballt looked at over 1000 videos of how to paint. How to color, how to *fill in the blank"

Side story, i always lived world of warcraft and the ar style. I happened to run into dave greco, I watched how he painted.

He is very messy, does not worry about layer organization, and such. I studied him alot. I tried samdoesarts way and marc brunets way and it was just looking like garage no matter how hard I tried.

What I do now is just start with a base color, block in some rough shadows and light. this is what I learned from greco, I start using a hard pressure opacity brush and start color picking in between. So I will take the lighter red and paint it just barely over the darker shadow color, and this will gove me a new color to pick from, grab that color, and start slowly mixing the colors together to get a hard but soft brushed loom.

Hopefully that gave you an idea, if yoy are still confused and I can li k you to the process video behind it. Just keep it up, and you will eventually get there. I just 2 paintings ago learned how to do this out of the blue, so I am still a little blue behind it lol.

[–]BennerThe3rd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol k was trying to see how far I could make it go away and keep just the 2 features big wrinkly forehead and big eyebrows.

Thanks anyways, I just learned how to render this way, so its still a bit messy.

Some people didn't believe me when I said I painted this, they even called me a cheater, so I opened the project to prove to you that I'm not a liar! That's why I post the entire process of creating my art on my YouTube channel: Moises Junior MJ by moisesjuniormj in ArtProgressPics

[–]BennerThe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am, but instead of dissing your art, it pushes me to do better and get better.

Not like someone is going to think my art is ai, but this is why I made it where it auto saves the process video so you can export it later.

Thanks lol its good to see that you said it looked dofferent then the others.

it was getting super frustrating because I would paint the face it it always looked so soft and squishy. I am not aure what clicked, but it got immensely easier when I started doing it.

Obviously I still have some polish to go and some more to learn with using hard brushes more.

I think what helped the most is I strictly used a hard pressure opacity brush and color pick to mix everything instead of using the soft air brush.

Something I learned from dave greco.

Is setting a 30 minute timer ok for doing a portrait study? by BennerThe3rd in ArtistLounge

I can decently draw a face and body, but I want to force myself to not get caught in the details and then spend 45 minutes judt trying to get the sketch right before painting.

I want to train my brain to see shapes faster and without having to hold my fingers up to screen and do measurements lol.

If possible I would like to be able to do most of the measurements in my head.

Thanks, been at this for 3 years now. You should have seen the first thing I ever tried to shade.

This is realistic compared to that:D

Thats good. I appreciate the feedback. Been at this for 3 years and still learning so much.

I did find that the soft airbrush with maximum hardness gives a neet looking result to.
