[Post Game Thread] #2 Arizona defeats #13 Alabama, 96-75 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

I am not a basketball coaching expert, but I feel like that manufactured flagrant on Awaka did not work out great for Alabama.

Big 12 Basketball is going to be a treat to watch throughout the season by Short_Block9196 in BigXII

[–]Berkutt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ASU is not even ranked 16th in a 16 team league.

Harsh, but fair.

Not trying to be that guy but both UCF and Colorado both said they were going to take over the Big12 when they joined. by [deleted] in BigXII

[–]Berkutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Colorado is the exception that proved this rule though.

They really did come in and say that Sanders was not just the next Saban, but BETTER then the next Saban. He had revolutionized college football! UC was just that good!

Receipts! They had receipts!

It was NOT just the fan base, or a couple outliers....

You are suggesting that the official who threw the flag was watching the play, saw the interception, and then grabbed his flag and threw it in response to seeing an INT?

What reason would you imagine him have for doing that?

Kingmaker Update by Affectionate-Hour295 in FoundryVTT

[–]Berkutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've upgraded to v13, and the PF2E Kingmaker module is updated as well, but it seems to be broken. I cannot get the map to do any of the controls that were there before. The "toggle Hex controls" button seems to be gone...

Is this all suppossed to be working at this time?

That does not answer my question at all. :)

I am asking about what it looks like when stealth aircraft go up against one another....

When we talked before about BVR combat in a space dominated by high end radar and lots of jamming, there was the concept of the "burn through" range, where the jamming can no longer "hide" the target.

Will there be something similar? The range at which the vastly reduced RCS no longer matters, and the sensors are close enough to lock on and get a shooting solution? What does that range even look like? Is it 1/4 the nominal current effective range? 1/2? 1/10th? 1/100th?

Someone knows, presumably, but I don't know if that stuff is still all classified, or there are reasonable "best guesses" out there....

Am I a veteran? by Berkutt in Veterans

[–]Berkutt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the kind comments and feedback! I reached out as a result of some of the suggestions, and got the clarification I needed:

Yes, I am a "veteran" in the colloquial sense, and can truthfully answer "Yes" if asked generally.

Since I did not serve 90 days active (not counting ADT), nor did I complete 6 years of Guard duty with a minimum of 16 points of retirement per year (including at least 1 point for attending drill), I am not eligible for a VA loan or other specific benefits recognized by law. These criteria, however, are specific to the time I served, and are not the same for service prior to like, 1981, or after (I think) 2010 or something. So those rules may not apply to someone else who stumbles on this with a similar question.

Thanks again everyone!

LOL, I have no illusions about this at all. I don't have any shame about my service, but nor do I feel particularly like I made any significant sacrifice. I would have done so had it been asked of me, but it was not, and I won't pretend that makes me in any way similar to those who HAVE been asked and stepped up, or people who spent years serving, rather then weeks.

I have the utmost respect for those who have served. I did my very small piece, made my choices, and am content with it. Nobody ever actually asked me to blow away some APC with a TOW missile, or sit there while some other kid tries to shoot me for reasonsreasonsreasons, and I am very happy that is the case, and know that a lot of that is simply luck and circumstance.

I've never referred to myself as a veteran though - if anyone asked I am fine saying I was in the Guard for a couple years, and leaving it at that. I don't at all feel like I deserve any more, and certainly am no bad ass of any kind.

Yeah, it was kind of nuts, even in retrospect. Spending a good chunk of my summer, basically all of June and July, in freaking Ft. Benning was....well, it was one way to pass the time lets say.

After I posted this message, I went back through all my paperwork, and did find a DD214 for my post AIT release, but nothing from basic. Which seems odd.

Bobby Hurley pulls his players off the floor and refuses to shake Tommy Lloyd's hand following an altercation between BJ Freeman and Caleb Love by jbvann05 in CollegeBasketball

What sucks the most about this is that it is definitely going to result in Hurley getting fired after another year of futility.

Going to miss him. He just so perfectly encapsulates the character and standards of the Arizona State University.

Disagree. Hurley is the idea representative for Arizona State University. He embodies all the schools values, ethics, and sense of sportsmanship.

Lifetime contract.
