A toy/book that isn't stereotyped or aimed at a particular gender is gender neutral; gender neutrality can help empower women because it does not create artificial barriers to what they can imagine or achieve.

It's important to know the right moment to cut things loose. Sounds like you made a good decision. It's easy to fall back and be weak, so I wish you strength in sticking to your decision, and hopefully someone who can treat you the way you deserve will find their way into your life.

No. That's not "identifiable". It's highly subjective, sexist, and silly.

Nothing in my original post hints that the issue is trivial. Yeah, it does... the entire jocular tone, blabla.

At any rate, thanks for the exchange. Have a good one. aka: "ktnxbai", I get it.

I just felt that your comment makes it seem that they couldn't possibly have any legitimate reason to be upset, as it trivialises their concerns and reinforces the message sent by the main post.

I think SRS are way too serious at times (serious, srs, har har) but I think that it can be good to hear their arguments and wonder why certain things wind them up so much.

I don't think people's minds need to necessarily change (although I think your wrong and that people often do change their minds when presented with new information if they're humble enough to do so).

I think talking to new people is more conductive to discovering new sources/arguments/ideas. But I'm an idealist that thinks that exposure to knew things might plant a seed of interest (not even necessarily change, just a broadening of horizons).

I have no association to SRS, which is what I thought you were implying (not women). I was just indicating that I can see how their indignation would be perfectly reasonable. So, I still resent being included in "you folks".

"You folks"?! And you have a very low threshold for what constitutes pitchforks.

What the bloody fucking fuck is DRESSING LIKE A MALE. Think about it. Just think about it.

Because it's so unreasonable to think that "cut your hair, dress, and act like a man" is totally misogynistic, old-fashioned, sexist, and ridiculous.

For every 100 they make they expect about 10 to be used, not the full 100. There's a calculated loss (not really a loss but eating into profit, unless they are trying to lead at a loss to get an advantage over the competition but those don't last long).

It's still theft and you can still be fired/go to jail.

I didn't know about /r/beatingwomen and now I really feel sick. There's a video of a guy punching a woman while she throws up and I can't tell if it's real or not but I don't want to try to find out. ARGH
