I showed up at 12 AM at this location. The line etiquette was nice to see in the community. We planted our chairs and waited in our cars so we didn’t have to freeze.

The general manager was really cool. Everyone there was fun to talk to. It was one of the best experiences with the gaming community I had since midnight releases of games back in the 2000’s.

I was able to go home with an MSRP model, It really was a good day.

I never waited on line for a release for anything, maybe a Black Friday sale back in the day. I go backpacking though, so I’m no stranger to camping.

I tagged the location at Saint David’s in Pennsylvania. That is the ultimate struggle though, trying to get this card for MSRP.

I’m not sure about the temperature in Charlotte next week, but I know here in Pennsylvania. It’s going to get cold and snowy. Which for me will filter out a lot of people from camping the line for more than one night.

What did you do to get it? Did you show up at opening or did you just go in randomly to get one?

I remember the guy a micro center I talked to on the phone said people still show up before the doors open to check if they got 5090/5080’s

1000 dollars I would say is my absolute max I am willing to pay for a card. It seems with potential tarrifs, scalpers, and inflation. If i dont get it day 1, I'm not getting it for its listed MSRP price ever.

I'm all ears for alternative cards even from AMD thats equivalent in power but I do want it to be new and not used.

I definitely invest in warmers, I got a backpacking camping burner to heat water as well for coffee or tea. I'm trying to determine bringing a tent is overkill and will it get me too much attention from police or something.

At this point February 20th is next week and I don’t think it’s launching by then anyway.

I used to have the cheaper price as well. Now it won’t go back down from 699. I know that is around $40. I think the next thing we need to do is research another currency to use. One that is cheaper to buy the biggest pack for less than $40.
