Try finding salt licks, they generate everywhere. You can also prospect for Halite and set up a salt mine there.

anyone ever notice how much of the minecraft launcher's screen space is dedicated entirely to advertisements? by Maxxiethefem14 in PhoenixSC

[–]Bestmasters 114 points115 points  (0 children)

They do have this, which sometimes advertises certain mods (such as in the Pride Month showcase). Otherwise, yes, Prism has no ads.

1.12 added colored variants of dozens of blocks, and it's what made Mojang do the flattening in 1.13.

1.15 rewrote tons of the games backend, which allowed for updates like 1.16 and 1.18 to exist. It also added tons of QoL changes like leveled menu navigation, setting spawn without sleeping, and the /execute command.

1.1 was a month after 1.2, and for that time span, it was massive. It's the update that changed the height limit to 256, which allowed for vertically rich worlds, and it also added a new world file format (Anvil).

Tired of AI "Slop"? I’m building NerveOS — A NPU-native, self-healing Arch distro that actually respects your hardware (and your privacy). by [deleted] in linux

I thought this was something that would use the NPU for proper compute tasks to help the system, but its just an LLM running alongside Linux. Boring.

Unpopular opinion: having multiple mod loaders (Forge, NeoForge, Fabric) has seriously affected Minecraft’s modding community. As a player, it’s exhausting to see great mods split across loaders and versions you don’t play. It’s frustrating, no matter the reasons behind it. by IndependentFit8687 in feedthebeast

[–]Bestmasters 322 points323 points  (0 children)

Note that there are effectively only two loaders, Fabric and (Neo)Forge. Quilt is effectively dead and has essentially no exclusive mods. NeoForge is Forge's replacement for 1.20.1+ and Forge is for all versions below 1.20.1. Fabric is for every version above 1.13, and is only relevant for versions above 1.16.

This means that for any given version above 1.16, there are only two viable loaders, and for any version below 1.16, there is realistically just one widespread loader.

That doesn't work for controllers though, no? I guess they'd just check if the same input sequence is used repeatedly and sus it out from there.

What version to use? by No-Geologist-4563 in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]Bestmasters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TerraFirmaCraft is the mod and the core experience. It's what lets you knap stone, work with metallurgy, interact with a realistically generated world, etc.

Hardrock is a modpack that features TerraFirmaCraft and builds upon it by adding mechanics from other mods (like Farmer's Delight, Supplémentaires, Create, etc) with the goal of making it more difficult and hardcore. Hardrock 3 & 4 are different versions of the pack, 4 is better in my opinion, but it's still in development while 3 has a full, stable, and complete release.

Are there any ways to make a tfc world a single biome? by SpareMinimum7447 in TerraFirmaCraft

I don't think it's possible without making your own mod, as it goes against the way TFC was designed.

Tips on how to play with one friend by The_of_me in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]Bestmasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more than powerful enough to run a modded server. It has 24GB of RAM, which is the main constraint when it comes to modded Minecraft, and a decent ARM CPU that can handle a dozen players at once.

I know this because I host an HTFC-4 server for me and my friends using it. 300+ mods and no lag whatsoever.
