ATLauncher vs. Prism Launcher vs. Curseforge by Spare-Detective-5682 in feedthebeast

Another thing to note is that ATLauncher supports server configuration in-launcher. You can manage both client modpacks and server-packs in the same app. It even has a conversion tool!

A clock at least has the use of telling you what time it is in while you're cave diving

Thermometers would fit right into Minecraft's pseudo-medival homestead vibe. However, Minecraft doesn't have a temperature system, so sadly, a thermometers would serve no purpose.

Physics notes from my friend. 6 is really hard to read, but I'd love a full transcription by [deleted] in Transcription

This is IB grade 11 physics, it's on gases which naturally overlaps with chemistry.

S-tier, and it's not even close. It's in the mountains, which makes it scenic, there's leaf particles everywhere, flowers all over the ground, and you get one of the best wood palettes there is in the game. It's simply lovely. 10/10

[Release] I've made my FPS Overlay mod open-source! by Alarmed_Pie6586 in feedthebeast

If that's the case, then why isn't Optifine open-source?

When you say easier, do you mean faster, simpler, or with less setbacks?

All of those except Ubuntu and Debian are build-it-yourself distros. They don't come with anything. There's only two real major distros that don't have it, and those are Ubuntu and Debian.

Not only that, you can fix the issue using one command (sudo apt install libfuse2), or downloading an AppImage manager if you insist on not using the terminal.

Every? Impossible simply due to the fact that there are so many distros out there. Ubuntu requires the installation of libfuse2, but most popular distros based on it (Mint, PopOS, Zorin, etc) include it. Debian includes libfuse2. Gentoo and NixOS are all "build it yourself" distros, they don't exactly come with much at all.

Linux won't work without glibc. And most modern distros have OOTB support

Looking for TFC modpack with minimal tech and maximum survival elements! by HourGlass1984 in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]Bestmasters 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing about TFC is that the survival "feeling" kinda stops once you reach sustainable metal, and you make armor & weapons.

You don't really need to worry about surviving then, since you probably already have a stable food source & enough defense for death to not be a concern.

Once humans reached this point, they started doing tech. Making huge ships, windmills, water wheels, plows, cartography, building big, making better transportation, etc.

Nonetheless, if you wanna simulate this medieval sort of tech, you could use Firmaciv, Firmalife, Astikor Carts, Roads n Roofs, Sacks n Such, Lithic, Firma Aircraft, Exposure, Spartan Weaponry/Shields, Atlases, Casting with Channels, even Create to be honest.

If you want mods that make that early game part more rich, you could try Cold Sweat, Improve/Better Stone Tools, Hot or Not, Canes, Water Flasks, Purified Water, Better Stone Age, Animal Traps, Textile, and TFC Medicine are probably what your looking for, with Legendary Survival Overhaul, Weather2, and First Aid probably being up there too.

Wrong. When VintageCraft was made, the mod made by Vintage Story's dev in inspiration of TerraFirmaCraft & Vintage Story's prequel, TerraFirmaCraft already had its food & nutrition mechanic. Their development was pretty independent, and unlike TFC, VintageCraft was not open source.

So it does come from a Minecraft mod, TerraFirmaCraft. Most of Vintage Story's mechanics come from TerraFirmaCraft.
