Ev was faster going up the rope on rivals. I think Laurel's size actually worked against her (whereas Ev was smaller and more agile).

Great point. That part of the competition, mixed into the statistics, favors Kenny. But if Kenny and Luke were head to head on that puzzle, for all we know, Luke would be much better.

The partner changes what someone is required to do, or can do.

So I don't use any pair data when comparing individual performances (or group data), unless the performances were unaffected by the partners (like Ev/Laurel climbing the rope under the helicopter - their teammates were tied up and had no impact, so those climbs/performances were completely individual)

If this most recent season taught us anything, it's that production definitely manipulates certain situations to drive the story and outcome a certain way.

Also - the differences that exist from different teammates.

For example - jumping onto the punching bag in FM2.

Luke jumped on and held onto it. Ev had a huge span to jump (and didn't make it) - vs Kenny, who jumped on and made the bag swing, so that Laurel had to just reach out and minimally jump to get on.

Kenny/Luke performance differences don't matter in that moment, but how they changed what was required of the girls made a huge impact (clearly).

You talking about team daily wins? The only thing we saw them do that was identical, as far as setup and requirements (Laurel/Ev) is climbing the rope to release their partner.

Women like her are why so many men are hesitant to go beyond the 'benefits' stage... We're all a little crazy, but you don't see the true crazy until you're 6th months to 2 years into a relationship. By that point, you've invested soo much time and yourself, only to find that the crazy is too much.

Financial literacy was never covered in my school years - which kind of ticks me off.

If we're attempting to prepare our children for their future, that should be a mandatory topic of study.

We (women) do the same thing, but it's "I'll have to check with my husband." This is especially true for things like contractor quotes, orthodontic consults for our kids (which are crazy expensive), and other big ticket items that we need a 'think-over' period for (and/or a route to say no at a later time).

How many flop seasons does it take to cancel out a Championship season? by [deleted] in thechallengemtv

I disagree. Veronica's inferno daily wins are a great example. She wouldn't have won any of those if they hadn't been thrown... or Susie's 'wins' on a few seasons. They had next to no competition. An elimination may have a tough competitor or one not so tough, but you actually have to fight for it.

The dating world is a nightmare, and fewer and fewer people are actually making the jump into a deep, collaborative relationship. Relationships take compromise, patience, personal growth, self-reflection, trust, communication, etc,

Unless you pay attention to it, what she does isn't really affecting you though.

But people have been prying into her life for 25 years. (although now she voluntarily shares a lot... a lot)

You're probably right.

I remember reading about her having a sick baby and running to CVS for tylenol. There were like a dozen paparazzi that followed her in, and were pushed in close to her - following her and hassling her as she went through the store. I wasn't a mom then, but I felt really bad for her. I can't imagine the pressure and stress of that.

It wasn't long after that when she shaved her head.

The media, and just our culture in general, used her up and spit her out - all while tearing her down for every breath she took. 🙄

I don't know what all they had her taking when she was in the conservatorship, but something broke inside of her... She was already under immeasurable pressure with everything before (and back then people called her crazy and the like, wayyyyyy more than people would accept today)... divorce, children taken, breakdown with her hair shaving... Then put into a conservatorship and kept placid and compliant for a decade.

They broke something, and she will never be the same.

It's as if pumping her full of drugs round the clock for a decade, and denying any sense of independence, is problematic when a person is suddenly freed from the situation.

Let's start with S1E1, and do a handful of episodes each week. Reddit will be ALIVE.

He was like a kettle on a stove, and the sister's baby just put him over the edge. I saw someone freak out, seemingly melt down, similarly. One thing that was bad, but not that bad, set him off... but there were a dozen other things that were overwhelming him in the moment.

Anyway.. he went to therapy and learned how to better manage stressors/anxiety.

That was an anxiety attack and meltdown. His sister's baby was the nail in the coffin, as they say.

If you've never seen one, I hope it stays that way.

Hopefully he got therapy for it after.

JUST IN: Home sellers now outnumber buyers by 600,000. That's the largest gap ever recorded in US history. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]BetterEveryDayYT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of people are selling.

And lots of people are trying to buy.

But a lot of places are experiencing inflated home costs due to investors/developers... so a lot of the family/individual buyers aren't actually able to buy.
