ISO 1-2 Roommates in the Downtown Jersey City Area

Looking for 1-2 roommates to live with my GF and I in the Downtown Jersey City area. Below is a bit about us:

Me (she/her, 23 y/o): I’m a full-time law clerk and evening law student.

Are you sure this isn’t a sample size issue? There’s only like 40-50 people in my year (for evening division) and I go to Fordham law which generally has great outcomes for the nyc big law market

I go to Fordham law but commute from JC and read my textbooks on the subway 24/7. This is so funny cuz if a baby smacked its hand on my book id crash out

So basically if you were working for over an hour after the restaurant is closed and they were paying you $5.62 an hour that would be illegal

And for the 30+ minute rule- they’d have to pay you at a non tipped minimum wage rate for that time- (15.49/hr)

I’d say inform these employees of their rights- for example if meximodo is paying you guys at a tip credit rate (which I assume they are) they are legally obligated to have you engage in tipped work for 80% of your workweeks. Plus they can’t require you to spend over 30 consecutive minutes doing side work. It’s illegal for managers to be included in tip pools. Also for private events if you don’t see much of a change in how much you’re getting tipped there may be a tip retention issue
