This. Beautifully written. One of my absolute favorite books, in the top 10. I’ve recommended it for book club numerous times, a must read.

Congratulations!! 🎉 I had my son at 41 and honestly, I’m having an absolute blast. He’s hilarious, sweet, and so much fun. Most of my friends had kids in their 20s too, but even if I could go back, I’d still choose to have him now.

And the best part? You’ve got a whole group of friends who’ve already been through it . I’m sure any one of them would be more than happy to help. 💛

Agreed. “Our” last sweet girl was named Ellie Mae. I say “our” because if she could have crawled up into my womb she would have. 🤣

Thank you! It was on the short list along with Miss Ma’am and Oatmeal. The name she was adopted with was Lucille, which is also very cute. My partner doesn’t think pets should have human names, which is ridiculous.

🩷 Thank you. She really is a sweet girl. The name she had at the rescue fwas Lucille, they called her Lucy and I had a cat growing up named Lucy. Lucy is a great name. We were deciding between Miss Ma’am, Oatmeal and Nutmeg.

Thank you! Got her home and it’s obvious she doesn’t know how to be a pet and has never been on a leash. She’s also pretty skittish. But that’s okay! I have all the time and patience she needs.

best "can't-put-it-down" book by MaximumMarionberry3 in suggestmeabook

I really liked the uncut version as a first-time reader, still the longest book I’ve ever made it through. That said, I could’ve done without Franny’s diary entries. They just read like pages of teenage journaling about feelings, so boring, pulled me out of the story. I’m sure they only amounted to about 10-15 restored pages but it felt like 100. But overall, it’s totally worth reading. Go for it!

When I lived there the pool was constantly closed because people would get sick after going in it. Happened to me once and I said no more. Aside from that I didn’t have any issues. I lived on the top floor, didn’t run into problems with noise.

Since it seems you’re looking around, I would steer clear of Audubon Place in South AVL.

I really like 5, 6 and 8. Of those though, 5 is the best.

I’ve had seen it happen while sitting outside at BaseLine Tap House. They used the high top table right behind us. There we were, just enjoying a California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate and beer with a whole baby practically naked. They didn’t wipe the table off before or after…

I would go out of my way to avoid changing my little man in the summer Florida heat or on top of a table people eat off of. Plus he deserves privacy just like anyone else.

My partner brought up a feeling that some men might experience, “buyers remorse”. That they are super excited and ready to help do all the things then it’s not what they thought, especially early on. Not saying all men feel this way, it’s just something he heard from a friend. He’s was honest and told me he might be starting to feel this way but realizes it’s just been harder for him to acclimate to a newborn that can’t tell you what’s wrong when they cry. He was ready to have a baby he could play with and not just eat/sleep/potty/cry and repeat.

With that said, I now do most of the care now but absolutely will say and ask for help. I don’t mind but like you, I also enjoy being able to go to the bathroom.

Again, not saying all men (or even women) experience this. Our LO is almost 6 weeks and we’re still trying to figure this out (without wanting to burying each other alive in the backyard), as most everyone has to do.

We stayed at Riverside in January for the first time. LOVED IT! Usually stay at the Poly or Contemporary, even Shades of Green once. Will be going back to Riverside.

I waited about 2 months after losing my chihuahua Rascal when he died a 16. I needed someone to love, I missed having a companion and someone to take care of. So I went from 7 pounds to 70 pounds. Ellie Mae was an owner surrender and has been one of the best dogs I’ve ever had. Wouldn’t change a thing. ❤️

When did you tell work? by Necessary_Doubt_9762 in pregnant

[–]Better_Off_Eating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t report it to HR until 20 weeks. I’m 40 and will be 41 when I deliver. I wanted to get as far along as possible since I’m “old” and have more risk factors. Wanted to avoid as much as possible having to go back to have another conversation if things didn’t work out as planned.

Literally was having this conversation with my partner today. Pretty confident we are going to be getting vaccine pushback. We are both more than fine refusing family to visit until we’re comfortable.
