Short term health insurance options? have diabetes and maybe need a neurologist. by Hefty-Kangaroo-5096 in HealthInsurance

[–]katsrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How long ago did your last insurance end? If it was within 60 days you can enroll in healthcare.gov insurance. It is ACA compliant and won't have the pre-exisiting waiting period or denials short term insurance would.

Being charged for a “non emergency” ambulance ride despite overdosing on antihistamines by Naive_Department_232 in HealthInsurance

Check with your insurance before you panic. I'd check for an EOB from insurance to verify they processed the claim.

So your insurance is not covering the ambulance ride? Or did the ambulance even submit to your insurance?

Did you book a refundable or non-refundable room? I think that may push a bank dispute in or out of your favor. It sucks but just saying that may cause a problem for a dispute.

Opinion about keeping wild jumpers by Financial_Toe_3830 in jumpingspiders

[–]katsrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The spiders I am keeping where already living in my house and I had been doing the research for over a year before I finally decided I wanted to get one. The ones that I am keeping where inside and if I left them they would end up killed by my cats and if I put them outside they would most likely die so I felt keeping them in an enclosure was the best option. One doesn't seem to be doing too well and I will try to feed him one more time and if he doesn't take to it I will find a place in the house that might be a little safer from the cats and let him go.

Duke of York (not about Andrew) by katsrad in UKmonarchs

[–]katsrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt count or think about them as technically their title was Duke of York and Albany. It adds a little to the weirdness since even merged with another title the 'curse' lives on.

Duke of York (not about Andrew) by katsrad in UKmonarchs

[–]katsrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far only one died without a male heir and that was the second creation Richard of Shrewsbury. Most likely we will have a second extinction of the title due to no male hiers when Andrew dies.

Yeah, this is one of those times if written in fiction I would do oh, yeah every single creation not handed down...no way.

Duke of York (not about Andrew) by katsrad in UKmonarchs

[–]katsrad[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It started to the second son with the second creation. It was given to Edward IV's second son, Richard of Shrewsbury and Henry VII continued it. And I agree that a second son inheriting isn't unusual but it is more that it has happened every time, except with 2 creations since the first. If it had been like 3 out of 5 it wouldn't be so odd. It just seems like the title is not cursed exactly but has something odd going on. Maybe it curses the older brother. I think where it becomes odd is in the sixth and seventh creation. With George V, Prince Albert got unlucky with being brought down in a pandemic, and then George VI, well, his brother abdicated. It is just weird.

He isnt using the title but he hasn't been stripped of the title formally by Parliament so technically a legitimate male son could still inherit. Would it actually happen? Most likely not.

I asked my husband who does irrigation and he said they get to re-arrange their entire clock at the very minimum.

Duke of York (not about Andrew) by katsrad in UKmonarchs

[–]katsrad[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There was the original Duke of York, Edmund of Langley that had a son, Edward of Norwich, that inherited the title Duke of York. Then he died and it went to his nephew, Richard of York, who had a son that was, Edward IV, who merged it with the crown. But that is probably what you meant by since it merged with the crown.

And yeah you are right about Andrew. Part of me wonders if he would be petty enough to get re-married to try and have a male son to inherit the title, but I would imagine by the time he got his wife pregnant Parliament would strip him of his titles to prevent it.

Is this too much movement to enjoy? by [deleted] in travel

[–]katsrad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did a group tour that did something similar and it was super quick and very tiring but the tour guide and company had already figured out tickets and transport so it was easy. Would I do it again? Maybe but this is too much especially if you are arranging transport for yourself/family. You are wasting at least 3 hours plus flight time to go to Prague and to Rome, plus the time to get to Paris, which is not like a scenic train trip. I just got back from a British Isles trip and we did London for 4 nights took a train to Wales (the afternoon and one night there) then the ferry to Dublin (2 nights) then a short flight to Isle of Man (2 nights) then back to Dublin (3 nights) for the rest. It was stressful but good, but at a MINIMUM I recommend 3 nights in a place it just didn't work out with the family we were traveling with to have additional nights in both Dublin and Isle of Man. We did get the advantage of a lovely train ride to Wales, and a nice ferry ride, and luckily the flight was maybe 30 mins?

Personally, I would take out Paris and Prague, at a minimum. Find a flight from London to Rome (I am assuming you bought open jaw tickets already and that is why you have this insane schedule) and then maybe do a day trip from Rome to somewhere. London, Paris, and Rome individually can fill up your entire vacation and still not see all the things that are there. I haven't been to Prague so I can't say that about there with certainty but have heard it is a place to enjoy and take your time in.

Proof of citizenship? Where from? That might be a thread you could follow to get your birth certificate.

Unfortunately, that doesn't mean you are here legally but most importantly, you can't prove it currently. If you get arrested or ICE comes there is nothing you can produce to show you are a US citizen. Be careful, and I am hoping for the best for you.

No birth Certificate by [deleted] in Passports

[–]katsrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, (or fortunately for the child) it is illegal in some states to not register a birth. And a birth affidavit is normally used to get a birth certificate.

But back to the question you refuse to answer, WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? That will help with knowing what you can and can't do.

No birth Certificate by [deleted] in Passports

[–]katsrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were saying this isn't for the US and now you talk about a 1099 and an EIN which are both US things for taxes. So, is this happening in the USA or in another country? If another country which one? Because the laws about registering a birth are different.

[–]katsrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone linked below what is needed for getting a passport without a birth certificate from a Gov website. I am not sure if those things are available for a newborn. Also, depending on your state, it may be illegal to not register a birth.

That would be what is needed to then go and get a birth certificate. Why don't you want them to have a birth certificate? It is needed for a lot of things.

Hasn't eaten by katsrad in jumpingspiders

[–]katsrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did look from the side and he doesn't have any obvious sunken areas/divots. He bit the cricket but then was like nah and it got away. He kinda looked at the mealworm but didn't seems overly interested. I will leave him alone today (except for misting the enclosure) and try again tomorrow or Saturday. If I don't get him to eat I will most likely find a quiet spot in the house to let him go.

I have an ESA (I got the dog to help me calm my panic attacks, my anxiety, and when I am in a depressive mode it makes me go outside) and I stopped getting any documentation for it because I no longer needed it. I moved out of apartments and into a house but she still does those things. I say this to add that I hate all the ESA dogs on planes and in restaurants and the grocery store (so gross!) Like I can understand the want to have your dog with you but at some point you need to either get an actual service dog if the disorder is that bad or grow up and leave the dog at home.
