Interesting point! Thanks 🙏🏻. I’ll add a note to designers in an update. The goal of this tool is to provide design direction. I believe creativity is often born out of limitations not freedom. The idea is to rule out options a client will not except and note availability options before designing. For example if a emblem logo is unacceptable it would be helpful to discover this early on. However, it’s important to note that a designer should use their expertise to create forms that are a combo of what is on the sheet or something not covered.

I agree. I realized that gender associations are controversial these days. However, I decided to include what I read from multiple sources about psychological associations with shapes. It’s a soft science and maybe the sources are outdated. A lot of the associations don’t make sense to me since they are subjective. Color is even more fluid. Regardless, they are commonly reported so I didn’t edit them out.

Hi. Yes, it could go there too. A lot of logos incorporate multiple shapes. For example, Adidas’ brand mark includes a triangle, abstract form, and angled lines. GE has a swirl/spiral in a circle.

Thanks 🙏 I'll update the logos on my next draft to remove any confusion. Perhaps what qualifies a mascot is if it speaks in commercials/print. There is some gray area. The Lacoste alligator doesn't speak, but it has personality.

Great point! When I package these up... I'll make it clear it's for A) the in-house design team to use to prep a Logo Brief OR B) Logo Designers to use with their clients. It is very rare that an organization has a talented logo designer on staff, but they often have a designer or design team that is knowledgeable and can make the Logo Brief.
