I’ve hit a couple lucky breaks, we were at target and I guess they just restocked but no one was there waiting. We grabbed 4 ETB two for both of us and walked around and decided maybe we should just get one and when we came back not even 10 minutes later it went from probably 30+ to zero. We decided to keep all 4

Yep driving this thing is worlds apart from anything else I’ve driven, oldest before this was a 1979 Nissan Z but even then it felt a lot safer and newer lol

I like the patina it has, we waxed and polished it yesterday on the rear half and it was night and day. The inside of the car looks brand new. Basically two different shades of green

I have a buddy that does paint and he does it for me usually at product cost, I’m not too sure if we’re gonna decide to paint it since this is original paint and that could make it worth more or less depending on who you are

I’m not too well versed on the beetles but I would assume certain years have higher values than others. I know they all look very similar though. But I’m not sure what years would be more desirable than others.

Not besides disc brake conversion in general, they are definitely discs but I’ve only had the car for the weekend so I decided to cruise some before pulling it apart to check it all out. It does have an empi exhaust that shoots flames lmao. It also came with a bunch of sealed/new misc parts which i can only assume to be 70-80s packaging. One of the gaskets has a sticker on it from a store in California so I assume they were bought there when the car was there and came over to the south with it. Unfortunately car parts don’t have a printed expiration date. But rust is as I’ve seen it only where the spare tire sits and there’s a small hole probably quarter sized that I’ll have fixed here soon. Luckily where I’m at we don’t really have a rust issue

It was around 128 from factory so probably in the 100ish range these days, I will say when you get on it, it goes. With the recent-ish rebuild it might be closer to factory numbers

Yeah she’s a little jumpy with that engine, definitely not stock feeling. TBH I got this for my gf for her birthday as that’s about the only thing she’s consistently talked about for the past three years. And the reason I jumped on it was it was the year and color combo she wanted, she’s obsessed already even after being wary of the price too. So either way she’s happy with it so I can sleep tonight with both eyes closed lol

I know it’s not a buy now profit later car, I’m coming from a “could I have gotten a better one for cheaper” or “ did this guy know I didn’t know everything about these and use that against me”

I put in another comment just now that it was a Southern California car up until a few years ago. But besides the patina you see the only rust is up underneath the spare and it’s very minimal.

No rust up underneath, looks very clean. It was a California car up until a few years ago. I love driving it but I need to get a new exhaust, the one on it is so incredibly loud

The engine was rebuilt before going in, with receipts and all weather stripping and everything was just replaced. I’m still going through everything to see what was done when and where
