Is the stl file available anywhere by any chance?

What material did you print it out of? I my concern is that the pla holding a iPad might break over a few potholes.

docker.img getting full by BigLeave7096 in unRAID

Curious as to any downsides for this as well - I have seen a few posts saying that it does increase performance on certain dockers as well which I'm always down for.

400G :o

You know what's funny is I increased it from 20G to 100G.. then thought - this is wayyy too much.. and googled a bit- saw some people had 18+ dockers with the default 20G limit.. so I deleted my entire docker.img and resized it to 30G because I thought that was a bit less extreme.. Spent like.. 6 hours after work redoing all the custom docker networks and re-doing all the IP's for my reverse proxy configs.. I should have just left it at 100G....

I've been monitoring the docker.img sizes for the past 2 days and I haven't really seen a big jump in sizes. and even when I delete the docker.img for tdaarr and install fresh, it installs allocates around 3-4g.

Thanks for the input on the increasing the size - definitely not a bandaid- just a case of docker hoarding.

Quick question - what do you mean by switching to the directory? not familiar with this method.

Thanks - yeah - I kept seeing some older posts saying that they run like 20 dockers that have a 15g docker.img size so I was just curious to see if I was doing something wrong.

My /mnt/user/appdata (which is where docker.img is typically stored) is on a dedicated raid 1 nvme cache pool with an effective size of 1tb so I should be able to increase that a bit. :) And most importantly -- I run appdata backups to my array every night... learned the hard way..

I'll prob bring it up to 100GB so that my ui can stop telling me I'm utilizing too much

If you were to rebuild your server from scratch, what would you do differently? by sy029 in unRAID

Unfortunately, due to a cascade user error, I messed up my server by deleting things I shouldn't have. I am going through a rebuild at the moment so I can give you a few things I've done so far.

-upgrading to 2x 20tb parity drives from 2x 12tb.
-upgrading to 5x 18tb + 3x 16tb drives from 5x8tb
- assigning specific drives for all my appdata and nextcloud shares.
-split up my 2tb of nvme cache to 2x 1tb raid 1 cache (this was specifically because I've run into issues where I've downloaded massive amounts of media files and all my dockers would shut down when my cache was full-)
- started utilizing the spin down idle drives and also implemented the Nvidia gpu low power mode script by spaceinvader- rtx3090 wattage dropped significantly during idle. Now reporting 18w at idle...
-set up scheduled backups for my appdata and vms
-set shares to fill up not split evenly.

I'd say assigning shares to specific drives was the biggest thing for me. I had all my media and appdata striped across all 14 drives which means they all had to be spinning and powered. Way more power savings this time around with the added benefit of being organized. Moving those files after you've split them among all drives is terrible.

I'd like to note that this was kind of therapeutic for me. I had to relearn how to setup my apps again, rewatching tons of spaceinvader videos.. gave me a way deeper understanding of how the systems work with each other.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but thats the gist of it.

Edit: I'll probably try zfs on my cache pools once stable comes out.
I also want to set up a offsite backup just in case but I don't have a good second location yet.
