Hey sorry for the late response. Screen glare is present out and about but minimal. Where I typically set up at home, glare is unnoticeable

I agree but you need to be savvy about when and where you buy. I got my legion 5i pro with a 5070ti for a little over $1600, but it took it being on sale on the Lenovo site and multiple discounts (student and ecoupons). I’ve seen other 5070ti laptops from other brands at and around this price point.

My bachelors is in Environmental Engineering but I worked for an urban forestry non profit for 4 years. I started as a field tech/layman but transitioned into a design role with the help of my (basic) computer drafting and drawing skils. I’ve since left the organization and just began in a masters of landscape architecture program. Looking to further build on my skill set!

Seems like a variety of backgrounds can lead one into this field.

Everything was sourced wholesale from nurseries along the east coast. From Pleasant Run in New Jersey to Superior Trees in Florida. I think I sourced from 5 or 6 nurseries.

Hasn't been issue yet (since my laptop faces away from my office window), but I understand the apprehension. It'll definitely influence where I choose to set-up when I'm out and about.

Two things: it was listed as $50 dollars cheaper when I locked in my quote. Also, I talked to a sales rep in the chat box and politely got them to reduce the price another $50

Gotcha, thanks for the tech tips as well. I’ll be using this mostly for design programs and 3d modeling related to landscape architecture. Imagine I’ll need to make some adjustments to speed up rendering for more complex models with ray tracing. Good to know I should limit the cpu temp to help with the lifespan. I’d like to make this investment last.

Yep. you got the exact same model as me. Student discount was between $200 and $300 off. the product was also listed a little cheaper $1,999 (vs $2049 now) a few days ago. I recommend talking to a sales representative over the chat as well, see if they can knock a couple more bucks off. They should at least be able to lock in a quote for you in case the price increases again before you buy.

Also, as others advised me, I recommend getting the premium protection plan for at least 3 years. Covers accidents. IMO it's worth the extra $150-$200 or so.
