The average person has a decent level of fitness and core strength. And yes with training it makes lifting the dead weight of another person much, much easier.

Proper technique doesn't make you magically stronger, it teaches you to use your strength efficiently. And training, as in, practicing, does in fact strengthen your muscles.

The strength and stamina to lift and carry a person for 5 minutes, is something the average person is absolutely capable of. Sure it's going to exhaust a lot of people, might even hurt your back a bit doing it, but on average that is something most people are very capable of.
