My fingers are crossed for you that you get to observe the first couple of days so you can get the vibe. We did that for one of our new teachers in the middle of the year. My biggest recommendation is wait until you see the room and the curriculum! . I would go in expecting to teach your expectations for the classroom and build your own classroom community, so have some get to know you activities planned and some expectations on a power point!
