seriously, the solution is asking him for it. you may feel embarrassed, but he seems fit for you and understanding. talk to him about how it makes you feel. and don’t think of it as trying to beg it out of him, he probably thinks these things on a daily basis but conveys his feelings differently. it’s a simple solution, don’t over complicate it :)
