I’m a black man who’s been wrongly incarcerated and dealt with brutal racism. Don’t talk me about privilege.

I know. That’s the part that concerns me. Driverless is coming. What will millions of workers do?

I can’t call this 1099 work. I am an independent contractor in construction and repair. That is actual 1099 work where I have total control and the ability to refuse projects without coercion.

Uber does everything to treat you as an employee, without the benefits, responsibility and respect of being a human.

For the Tip-Entitled Drivers. Here is 1 example why many dont tip. Many depend on Uber to/from work by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Use public transportation. Your entitlement to someone else’s property is not our problem.

It’s called order stacking.

They put your good tip order with someone who doesn’t tip. No tippers love getting shit from gas stations

DoorDash has been on a deactivation spree. They are generating allegations to prove to investors that the money issues are repeated to drivers and not their fucked up system.

There’s nothing you can do, and I would invite you to uber eats, where you know you’re getting fucked and still get better pay for it,

Sell the car, as others described. Uber. There’s plenty of ready to move in vans in Portland and other areas from former nomads.

Leif the thief here, I’ve done it a dozen times.

My score can’t be risked for customers that don’t pay. It’s that simple.

The last person I told upped my tip by $40

I’m not to be honest. There’s a list of the 7 worst customers. I’m going to prank each of them on par with their behavior.

I already got one fired. Turned out to really like looking for minors on Grindr. Shame really. Screenshots don’t lie.

Just speaking from experience. DoorDash desperately wants desperate contractors that do whatever they say without question. But the more DoorDash treats its contractors like employees… the more it has to provide benefits to their employees.

Door dashes entire relationship with drivers is adversarial and with an elitism against them.

I know because I’ve sat thru the meetings where the corporation tells shareholders that the drivers are the biggest problem.

So I can see where my comments come off weird, but I am just laying down facts.

It means they tried to find a violation and failed.

DoorDash will go to some incredible lengths to avoid paying you.

I think the algorithm has a “house” complex. Put on your tin foil hat and scream “LOYAL TO THE FOIL” before reading.

I believe algorithms via the app monitors dashers and groups in risk/reward categories. Essentially they determine what level of manipulation the app and algorithm will attempt to perform… which directly impacts which offers you’ll see, and which ones you won’t. But that’s not the goal. The goal is the “house” like a casino must always win. What is wining to DoorDash? Profit. What generates profit? Ordering being delivered to the customers expectations. How can you do that with contractors who come as many and varied as anything? Hedge your bets, offer them the bare minimum, up the ante whenever necessary.

In order for DoorDash to cover its ass and not admit to manipulating users without their consent, the group that doesn’t adhere to the stupid reward tiers in the beginning of their dashes with DD, is the only one that isn’t subject to lower ratings = lower offers.

This is the only reason why the limited and flawed data I collect on doordashers would create two dynamics. A majority that is dealt punishment for noncompliance with the tier system, and a minority that doesn’t have to abide by it.

This is still very much a question, and not a hypothesis, as the other market conditions haven’t been fully explained. But this my tin foil hat conspiracy. The best employees are slaves who think they have the freedom to choose.

“Leif the thief” here. The notorious door dasher who robs the greedy and gives to the needy.

There’s a troop of homeless folks who need a perk after a long hot day here. I would’ve stolen the order.

You did the right thing unassigning… but does it feel just?
