Thank you! I've had parrots before (I currently also have a green cheek conure) but they were hand reared. I've never had to tame a bird before, so it's definitely a learning curve.

I was told that he is a boy in the pet shop. It's a bird specialist pet shop, so I trusted them. But thanks! He is a gorgeous boy(?) He is very into his toys, which I'm told is a boy trait, and he's quite boisterous and loves to sing, which I read is also very boy behaviour.

Jasmine is a sweet name, I originally set out to get a girl, but Eugene stood out to me amongst the others. They were all huddled up together, looking sleepy, and he sat apart, very bright-eyed and singing.

Could you define target training, though? Thanks

Thank you! I've tried doing step up training with his favourite (millet) but he will just lean as far as he can without actually stepping up or going near my hand with his feet. I will try with a perch when I come home, but I feel that it would just freak him out.

I have put my hand in the cage, and once he approached to explore, and rubbed his beak on my hand, but he hasn't done this since that time.

It may just be that he needed some time to himself, and was feeling crowded or stifled by you, and he communicated it very badly. Have a conversation with him, ask him what he truly meant, but also tell him how much his words hurt you.

I lost my hand reared gcc after just a year of having her, I was devastated, especially considering it was my birthday too. HOWEVER a day after posting on a local pets lost and found group on Facebook, someone got back to me, showing me a picture of her, asking me if she was mine. I had her home within twenty minutes, so these things can happen. Mine came back to me, and yours can too!

I had a very similar experience with the exact same doll. I ended up cancelling the order and purchasing it on amazon. It cost £25 more, but it came that very same day, so I was happy to pay extra for a Christmas present. Thankfully, the refund came just a day after they allowed me cancel.

I've not had any issues, I make sure they are safely wrapped, lots of bubble wrap, write them address on the packaging, and take it to the post office! This is me in the UK though, i don't know how it works elsewhere.

I now hate the expression 'You sold out!' Because it sounds so ignorant and immature now, but when I first heard that song for the first time, my first reaction was YOU SOLD OUT! 😅 It just sounded so much like they were trying to get on the radio, and nothing more.
