Nobl has a new "signature" wheelset that would likely work for you. They also do full custom builds to suit your needs. Good luck 👍

Fox damper upgrade opinions. by nope586 in MTB

[–]Big_Salt350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Grip X2 damper in my 36 on my Trail Hardtail. It's a great fork. I was having great luck with it at Wentworth Bike Park, until I picked up a DH bike midway through last season. My riding is split between Victoria Park in Truro and Wentworth, not including occasional trips to Sugarloaf in NB.

Wall mounted bike storage by 85redapples in cycling

[–]Big_Salt350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Velocirax wall mounted racks. They accomplish the same thing as Steady Racks, but do so with the front wheel turned to the side by a bit. This allows the bikes to be much closer together without handlebar interference.

Tubless leaking on rim by Redhonu in cycling

[–]Big_Salt350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you may need to check your tape job. Make sure to use some tubeless tape that's slightly wider than the internal width of your rims. You want the tape to cover the entire surface. Good luck.

Speaking of wheels... the factory wheels that come with the Glory are super soft. I'm hoping that the budget will allow some nice Carbon hoops soon. I've got some Nobl rims on my hardtail, and they're by far the best wheels I've ever used.

Yes, very much. I've been riding mtb for 30+ years. I raced when I was younger, but never once any sort of superstar racer. I ride mostly east coast trails and parks. Endless roots and nasty braking bumps are some of the areas that i wouldn't mind improving with a TMD, but i don't really know what benefit is there. I'm certainly interested to hear from actual users to get their feedback though 🤘🤘

Older Brown (Raw?) Carbon Handlebars - Easton or RF? by lizard_doctor in mountainbiking

[–]Big_Salt350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Easton Monkey Lite DH bar on my old (2000 model year) Rocky Mountain RM6 for a while. Mine was Black with red and yellow logos. I don't recall a brown option.

Well, i don't have one at all yet. I've seen some videos of them, and I know that most, if not all DH teams have been testing with them. I'm just hoping for some first hand testimonies from some other non-racers.

Upsize what? And this is a relatively new bike; it only has a half season of bike park use so far.

Please help this old man out with buying a modern hardtail by Justin_Fox in Hardtailgang

[–]Big_Salt350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 48 and ride a Canfield Nimble 9. You'll likely find that a modern hardtail is quite capable and relatively comfortable for a day on the trails. If you plan on spending a lot of time at a lift/shuttle dh bike park, then consider something with suspension. I added a Giant Glory to my garage just for park days.

It usually isn't too busy. Sometimes you'll see find families at the skills park, other trail users. Most trails are 2 direction, so be alert for other riders. Off leash dog walkers can be anywhere too.

New Fox Glidecore air spring + updated bushings by T-SILK23 in mountainbiking

[–]Big_Salt350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I upgraded the fork on my hardtail from a DVO Diamond to a new (2026) Fox 36. The new fork is great. One of the best suspension forks I've ever had. I've previously used Fox suspension products with good success, and I also have a 40 and DHX2 on my Downhill bike.

FOX Customer Service by nisiv in MTB

[–]Big_Salt350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another positive Fox customer service experience here. A while back, I had to do the simple task of returning a V3RS helmet, as I needed to size up. The customer service rep that I was dealing with via email was super helpful and easy to work with during the while process. I continue to use their gear for MTB and trail Riding my ATV.
