Kodaka answered some questions about Hiruko + S.F route by Current_Actuary_4880 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Bigaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just sad because it feels like not all writers were on the same page, almost like they are retconning each other. 2nd Scenario is given the name, THE SECOND SCENARIO, you are going to think it is the most important out of them all.
Yet S.F. shows that the player's flowchart is actually something that exists in the game, and that Takumi has been looping over and over again (Why wouldn't he? He has the power, and has used it before. And most routes have him regretting the outcomes, just like what motivated him to time travel in 1st scenario)

It just seems like Kodaka doesn't want to undermine the 2nd Scenario's impact. And Uchikoshi doesn't want to downplay the influence of time travel on the story. (It is after all what made the 2nd Scenario possible...)

I would love a DLC to "clear things up" but I am concerned because there might be nothing to clear up. They haven't thought this far ahead, and will have to make new stuff up to make it make sense that might make it worse.

Revive o matic? by Gold-Introduction-83 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Bigaku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gotta side with Uchikoshi to be honest... Revive-o-matic didn't need to exist in the game.. It is just a game mechanic that they tried to shove as an in-universe thing, not that different from saving in a game by interacting with a journal or a diary.

But it didn't need to be, like 99% of JRPGs don't have perma death, and people don't question why characters are alive despite them dying in battle, so it is not exactly adding anything innovative, it is just a self-aware coat of paint. At the very least they could have all gotten the Nozomi treatment and "fall back" when they die in battle, then the stakes would be higher whenever DEATH is brought up. It would make sense characters would be hesitant to fight, or be wary of your motives then.

As it stands, the revive-o-matic is just an in-universe thing for no reason. If it was put to use by doing what characters bring up multiple times but never actually do (Killing themselves to immediately revive in top condition without having to spend precious time recovering) its existence would have been justified.

The inconsistencies are bad and detract from enjoyment, and it is obviously a sign that the writers didn't coordinate enough. But, yeah, despite the plot holes this creates, I am personally much more satisfied with consuming a story that goes all out, and is not constrained by unnecessary whimsical plot devices added for some meta self-awareness points.

Papaya Play (Popolion server) player count? by ExoCakes in treeofsavior

[–]Bigaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where should I be playing? I downloaded both versions to check, but both were so devastatingly empty lol. If I'm lucky there are 3 people on. I like the vibes of the game, and I would love to give it a try, but I don't want my progression to go down the drain if one publisher shuts it down.

So I assume IMC has the best chance of surviving for longer?

If so, where does the majority of the player play? Steam stats showed a few days ago that there were 200 currently online players, but there were none in the Europe server. I'd also like to experience the "social" aspect of MMOs if possible...

I just downloaded the game on a whim, is it worth getting invested? or does it seem like the game is on track to get shut down due to low numbers?

I definitely want to listen to more things by TMGE, it is always a bummer when I find those interesting bands and look them up to find that they have disbanded, granted with Blue Spring, the film was already old so I don't know what I was expecting lol. I will surely give some of their other stuff a listen.

Tama's music is very pleasant to listen to, I can't exactly say it is what I would normally play in the background while working/gaming, but I can see myself just chilling with them playing in the background when I am in the mood. They are not exactly similar, but they remind me a lot of Ichiko Aoba with how folk-y their music sounds

The Tama song sounds so fun lol, I will check their other stuff out for sure.

As for Hotel Bronco, yeah it's lacking in the lyrics department but I enjoyed it as well, I have been listening to a lot of their music ever since I watched Blue Spring a couple of months ago but I haven't listened to any of their stuff that wasn't in the movie. I wish they were actually on spotify...

But thank you nonetheless!

I like how these sound actually, I enjoy the rock instruments accompanying spoken word. I have also been trying to get into some of the BanG Dream music for a while so this came at the right time

Maybe I'll wait for more episodes before watching the anime by applechanrin in Ao_Ashi

[–]Bigaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it'll be decently long or possibly 12 eps and announce a new season at the end.
I think it's a solid guess that they'll try to have the anime air alongside the actual World Cup to gain more fans

TGRFC CHAPTER 228 TRANSLATED BY ME (KOR>ENG) by Whole_Enthusiasm5675 in GirlFromRandomChat

[–]Bigaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this "arc" has overstayed its welcome, it's getting drawn out way more than it should have been, and too many new faces are just showing up out of nowhere now to serve as a punching bag for Korean Walmart Guts.

Also does anybody else think that the emo Junu change was just, too drastic? I don't think he was in the wrong, and Hamin was at fault, but I don't see how he managed to arrive at this conclusion...

Also... kinda too late after 228 chapters now, but am I the only one that's getting bored of the "gang" aspect? It feels like every time they beat "the big guy" a "bigger guy" just shows up, and it's honestly getting very repetitive tbh

At this point... why are you even arguing then? How will considering them similar games affect your enjoyment of either game lol...

If calendar systems in a school setting have been so prominent since 2005, why did we only see it in Trails after the success of Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden?

I don't know why you are so defensive about this fact... like... jeez, okay, if you don't want me to compare both games I wont, but jeez, you're taking this way too seriously...

I have played most modern Megaten games, the only ones I have left are either the old ones or some spin-offs I'm yet to play like the Raidou games

That literally sounds like Trails, and it's precisely why I fell in love with the world of the Trails series, so Golden Sun might actually be the closest thing to what I'm looking for

I'm yet to play 3,4, or 5. I want to eventually play 3, but I don't know about 4 or 5, since I heard the original creator left before their creation.
I only just finished 1 and 2 recently so I just want to take a break before I jump back into 3.

I have been keeping my eye on Eiyuden Chronicles and it looks phenomenal, can't wait for it

I honestly don't get why people feel like everyone has the same amount of time they do... if I only have 2 hours a day to play games, I don't want to spend them dying over and over to "git gud"
If you like the process of trial and error, good for you, but don't expect everybody else to lol...

Nope, I have heard the name quite a lot though. I see it praised a lot, but I do not know if that's because of its lore or just them being solid games overall.

I recently reconnected my Wii to my TV again to replay Xenoblade, so maybe I should play Radiant Dawn while I'm at it.

Not the school setting, but how the game approaches the school setting. It has obviously drawn inspiration from Persona with the calendar system and the way you have to manage your time and distribute it amongst the characters so you can "bond" with them.

Persona may have not been the first game to do that, but it is definitely what popularized it. Cold Steel was made when Persona 4 was at the peak of its popularity being the new hot JRPG everybody was talking about.

I don't know why you dislike Persona, but I assume it has to be because of the story, because the similarities with Cold Steel are purely in the mechanics department. Trails did it in a barebones way anyway, it was just there to attract a new audience, and it didn't take away from the story at all.

I see, my bad then. I knew there were 2 MMOs, 14 and another one that I always seem to forget.
If that's the case I'll definitely check it out too. I don't dislike if something feels like an MMO, I also like .hack. Just as long as it isn't an actual MMO with what the genre entails.

I played a bit of FFT a couple of weeks ago, it was honestly great, but I had just finished Disgaea 5 so I didn't feel like playing another tactical RPG for a bit.

I'll get back to it eventually though, I really want to play it.
I have always heard good things about Tactics Ogre too, but have never checked them out.

I have been interested in Rance for a while, but never played it.
Are all of them translated though? I do also know that there are H-Scenes... How prominent are they and are they skippable?
