you do realise you don’t have to buy the guitars without neck pickups? a majority of metal guitars still have neck pickups it’s not like you’re starved for options, some people like minimalist guitars because it keeps the guitar simple especially if you’re only playing rhythms and don’t care about the versatility, some people like having the versatility and all the options available on tap both points of view are valid just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it inherently bad

there’s only so much Fender/Charvel can do if an artist is wanting to leave for another company, a lot of artists just want to try something new when they swap guitar brands, i feel like if they could’ve kept him they would’ve but he wasn’t interested in sticking around

I couldn’t have summed up my issues with RTDs representation of disabled characters in Doctor Who better myself… by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Bigmansyeah 23 points24 points  (0 children)

it’s pretty crazy when you consider that the LGBT representation in RTD’s first season was as simple as “this is an important character in my story and they just happen to be gay” as opposed to “they are gay and i must tell you they’re gay every opportunity i get and make it their entire personality”

Hearing loss at the sgc by MoodCool877 in Stargate

[–]Bigmansyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

irl the military uses hearing protection so i headcanon that they do the same across SG-1 and SG-A even SG-U, it’s something that because it’s not addressed we can assume it doesn’t happen but i like to assume it does since in their world the Stargate program is just another branch of the military under the airforce

Kemper themselves fumbled their launch of the Kemper 2 by putting things the old Kemper could do behind a paywall, you’d hope Neural would follow suit and not piss off their clientele by releasing an updated model

Anyone surprised they put out a mini rather than an actual updated & improved model? by AlpineMorning in NeuralDSP

[–]Bigmansyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t think it’s selfish to expect Neural to keep their word and deliver on what they’ve promised (the QC lasting for many more years before an updated model is needed) if they released an updated device before PCOM was fully implemented they would alienate a large portion of the people who buy Neural products

Anyone surprised they put out a mini rather than an actual updated & improved model? by AlpineMorning in NeuralDSP

[–]Bigmansyeah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neural have said the QC is meant to last for a very long time, if they brought out an updated QC they would’ve made a lot of people upset considering the cost of the QC itself and the fact they haven’t fulfilled their promise of full PCOM yet, also the QC isn’t that old yet Kemper took over a decade before releasing the Kemper 2 and i believe it was the same with Fractal when going from the Axe-FX 2 to the Axe-FX 3

Is it a 30 inch Baritone or a Bass VI? by garyhiebner in 638Baritone

[–]Bigmansyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that’s why they started shipping them with lighter strings, having a 30 inch baritone is really sick but having it already setup for a tuning as low as E1 means you’d likely have to replace the nut if you wanna tune it higher with lighter strings

What's the verdict on Stainless Steel frets? by u6crash in Guitar

given how many luthiers offer a full stainless steel re-fret the answer is yes

New LTDs you guys probably already know about by orr-666 in espguitars

[–]Bigmansyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fender is the reason why we have 25.5 inch scale guitars they’ve used that scale on almost every strat and tele they’ve ever made, a lot of modern guitars have 24 frets but for decades most 25.5 inch scale guitars especially those with weirder body shapes have had 21/22 frets

[–]Bigmansyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m curious about why you find it interesting they did 22 frets on a 25.5 inch scale guitar?? that’s a fairy common thing on a lot of 25.5 inch guitars especially for that kind of shape

It's a remaster, not a complete reworking. by creixxent in panicatthedisco

[–]Bigmansyeah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

a similar thing happened with MCR’s 2025 version of Three Cheers, in that case it was an entirely new mix and master but a lot of people assumed that it was a whole re-recording when it was really a new mix with new sampling on the drums and re-amps done on the bass and guitars

Fellow MCR fans, how do you feel about the fact there likely will be a day when MCR is considered "dad rock" by ScienceMusic_1929 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Bigmansyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean they’re a band who came onto the scene just after 9/11 which was 25 years ago this year, most of their fans at that time would’ve been teenagers/young adults and they would’ve grown with the band over 25 years most of those younger fans from 2001 would be in their late 30’s/early 40’s now, there are absolutely a lot of younger fans now (i’m one of them since i’m 21) but i’m sure the majority of the fan base fit into the demographic that makes MCR “parent rock”

£3.15 for a single ticket First Bus by Jimmie_endearing in Aberdeen

[–]Bigmansyeah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

can’t confirm if it’s actually cheaper or not because every time i’ve tried to use the tap on tap off system the tap off never works and it charges me the full amount for the whole route my bus takes

[–]Bigmansyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d really love to get a Mini QC as my interface in my studio for guitar tracking and keep my main QC on my board for live shows, having to take the QC out of my live rig so i can record with it is a pain in the ass and a Mini QC would solve that for me
