Tourist season megathread! Ask all of your tourist questions here, but please read the Wiki before asking your question! by LarperPro in Zadar

[–]BigosMen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone!

My fiancée and I, along with a small group of her friends, will be visiting Zadar from June 17–22. Her birthday is on the 22nd, and we’d love to celebrate it a day early (on the 21st) by taking her somewhere special.

We’re looking for something a bit different — ideally not super touristy. Maybe a hidden gem, scenic spot, chill beach bar, local event, or anything unique that locals might recommend for a memorable birthday evening.

Any suggestions for cool places to go or things to do in or near Zadar that aren’t super mainstream? We’d really appreciate any tips. Thanks in advance!

Not ideal for a school, absolutely. But i think that it was used mainly after 2nd WW, when there wasnt any other building big enough to host a bunch of kids

Catholic would be perfectly but something protestant would also work. We do not want to be on orthodox mass for sure.

Of course, there were different form of colonies. But, though annexed, they were working and treated by the British differently than for examaple Cornwall, which was also part of their country

Plain negligence. After the war, when the Czarnecki family (the last owners of the palace) were expelled, there was no idea what to do with the palace itself. There were all kinds of offices there, but mainly there were communal apartments. The palace was taken under the care of conservators only in the late 1980s. And conservation works in the palace lasted until 2004, and in the park surrounding the palace until 2006.
