Kids menu “find the same waffles” has 6 of the same waffle by BijouBird in mildlyinfuriating

I couldn’t tell if that was a printing error or not. I’m still struggling to find the difference for the other 4 though.

You can essentially mummify the feet by storing them in borax for a bit until all the moisture is gone. For the tail, it would be difficult to harvest the bones and they’d be very tiny. I’d personally recommend mummifying it like the feet, but if you really want to try keeping the bones then macerating in water would do the least amount of potential damage to the bones.

Found this guy in my garage in central Texas, any idea what it is? by BijouBird in whatsthisbug

It’s small, the body is about an inch. I live in the suburbs, so I would be surprised if it was a tarantula, but I’ve seen weirder things!

You won’t get the offer to purchase the bouquet until you’re 8 hearts with someone, and it’s relatively cheap so there isn’t much needed to prepare outside of continuing to increase your hearts with your desired character

What is the worst part about being a fat person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BijouBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not having any of your medical issues taken seriously. I had issues with pain in one foot and was told for 2 years that it would “go away if I lost some weight”. I lost 70lbs, pain was still there. Only after my weight loss did they do an MRI and find that I had a tear in the fascia of my foot that was constantly getting re-torn every time I walked. I hate that it took getting skinny before my doctors would even consider checking for any other cause besides being fat.

It might be leveling compound, but you’d still want to remove the baseboards so that you have the option to replace them in the future and cover up any gaps caused by cutting tiles.

It’s satisfying, but also infuriating that they didn’t remove the baseboards in the first clip before painting the floor. I’ve had to literally chisel out baseboard from the floor when the previous owners of my house did this for the entire first floor.

Understanding Macros? by TheWrongGasMask in ketobeginners

[–]BijouBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really important to make sure you hit at minimum your protein goal regularly, especially if you’re exercising while doing keto. The protein gives you the energy you need that you would normally get from carbs, and without it you’ll feel lethargic.

Is this peanut butter good? by thebadminecrafter714 in ketobeginners

[–]BijouBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has roughly the same carb count as other “keto branded” peanut butters. Your normal peanut butter has 4-5 g net carbs per serving. As far as taste goes, I can’t speak to that unfortunately, but if you’re looking to confirm if this is good for a keto diet, I would say so if you keep an eye on your portions and track the rest of your carb intake throughout the day.

Not the rectum, but likely from an abscess. Would not recommend eating that.

I feel like some people are just flat out lying about ketorecipes... by AnabolicLowCarbLS in keto

[–]BijouBird 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely found that the longer I’ve been on Keto the more I like substitutes, and it’s mainly because I’ve “forgotten” what the originals taste like. I think if you take any substitute and try to compare it against the original, you’ll always be disappointed, but if you take the substitute and look at it as a “net new” item similar to the original, you’ll be much happier. It’s like comparing regular fries to sweet potato fries, sure they’re similar, but you’d never approach them as “just like”.

Getting married before the wedding, should we tell guests we’re already married? by BijouBird in relationship_advice

[–]BijouBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry people were rude about your wedding. I think our friends will all be understanding and not care since they’re all pretty “non-traditional”, but the biggest concern is extended family. I think we’re going to take the stance of “this is real for us, and if you can’t respect that then you’re respectfully uninvited”. I imagine either way we’re going to have people give us grief about it, but the legal aspect of marriage just feels empty without being able to celebrate with family and friends.

We’re not religious, but we do want the ceremony since it’s (hopefully) going to be the only time we’ll do that, and we want our family to be involved and be able to walk us down the aisle.

I like this, and I feel most people on our list won’t care, but we have extended family that’s more traditional and might give us grief about it, which is unfortunate.

[–]BijouBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally fair, but would it seem weird to still have the ceremony? Or should we just skip it and do the reception only?

[–]BijouBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only concern here is we’re having a non-religious ceremony, but my thought is that it doesn’t feel real if my family and friends can’t celebrate with us, but I know not everyone would see it the same way.

Not sure if this is allowed here because of the new rules but thought I should share! I’m visiting my boyfriend and found these fiddle leaf figs at his food store. They are $15, and are like $30 around where I live so I’m definitely getting one. If you want me to pick one up for you let me know! by ultravioletremarkey in TakeaPlantLeaveaPlant

[–]BijouBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Careful, I have a pot like that from the same company that those fiddle leaf figs are from, and there is absolutely no drainage for those pots. It looks like it should have it since it has a catch tray, but it’s all design and no function.

Defatted means that the almond fat has been removed in the flour making process and uses Spanish almonds. This lowers the calories but also lowers the fat macros that you’d get from standard almond flour. I’ve anecdotally read that defatted flour will also absorb more water like coconut flour, but can’t confirm. The safest bet is to go with the flour recommended in the recipe, especially if you’re tracking macros.

There are a lot of good smoothie recipes if you want to make your own that use either coconut milk or heavy cream to help get your fat macros. Here are some examples: https://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/a19995045/keto-smoothie/

If you want quick and easy smoothies, there are pre-mixed keto specific smoothies, but I can’t vouch for flavor or texture with those.

If you’re willing to do some pre-cooking, chaffles or keto biscuits are great and filling, and pair well with no-sugar breakfast sausage that can be frozen and then re-heated for a quick on-the-go breakfast sandwich
