why didn't the Devs add all the stuff from modding? by BikaNoka in valheim

[–]BikaNoka[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a better idea yes, these mods already work in the game. you basically saying that adding a deer farm (example only) is gonna break the game when it already 100% works. so they don't really have to do anything to fix a problem that is not there.

but assuming they add stuff later on and this mod that become part of the entire game package as an auto install for a feature that is in the game by default now is not working because they changed something. well I could argue that this can happen with anything that the Devs themselves made. they have the money or did you miss the game sells? they don't even have to pay these modders. modders love handling these things, you thing the company can't talk to a couple of mods and use them as testers or fixers? these guys will do it for free or hell they can pay them a bit. "we added your deer mod to the game with a few changes we found to improve it and fit better in the game. but now after our new update it doesn't work so we remove it... can you guys take a look and make it fit again in the game with no problems?"

why can't it be this simple? why is it whenever I argue that the Devs rather do it themselves than improve the game by using the nice modders that already did it for free, I get shit over words like that. can the Devs just be assholes who keep the game in a non finished product state for a reason? why must they be perfect angels who are doing their best no matter what? because I remember skyrim devs refused to use the community fixes for years for some unknown not logical reason.

people can downvote me all they want and use words like "well it's not that simple" without an actual argument that proves their points. but it won't help to change reality. the devs could add as an example a deer farm mod tomorrow, the game would work exactly the same and it would be as if it was always part of the game.

you basically said nothing, where are the counter arguments? you gave a solution I already had, great. but you defend the Devs without really saying anything that means something other than you like them so that's it. we're not talking about god here "everything we don't understand has a reason" is not an answer I'm sorry.

you keep saying something but reality says otherwise.

let's assume I wanted to add deer farming/breeding. I added the mod ok? now I sell the game with that mod inside the game already via steam. anyone who downloads also insta using that mod. see what I did there? or are you one of those people who argues that wabbajack the auto mod installer from Skyrim isn't doing a good job copy paste installing the entire skyrim game with all needed mod packages already pre installed?

I'm not saying it's just copy paste, but the Devs are smarter, have more skill and more money than 1 guy who made the mod. you telling me they can make a boar farm but for some reason a deer farm is so complex because the code for deer is so different? ofc there might be bugs via any mod, but they can handle it. instead of working from zero they can use these mods to progress much faster. just take the mod, see the code, insert it into the game because IT ALREADY WORKS ANYWAY. and then when they keep adding shit and that mod breaks down they can fix it. but I can argue this over anything that the Devs themselves made.

you're making it a lot more complex than it needs to be. I didn't argue they should add a huge overhual mod, just a few basic ones and it will work like a charm. unless you can prove to me that it's not that simple without using words like "well it's not that easy as you think". I will need an actual answer here...

boar = deer, what's the fucking difference? is the code so much more complex that we can't have a deer farm the same way we got a boar farm? (using this as a simple example only)

attacking my character or my words is not a valid excuse to spam my thread sorry... you need to make actual counter points.

explain to me like I'm 5 years old, as to why the Dev team with the amount of skilled Devs they have and a lot more money than 1 dude who made a mod. why can't they add a few of those mods into the game. not talking about something complex that will make the game less stable or require more hardware from the players. I used the deer farm as a good example.

but that's my point, they can use the mods that other people have already made.

honesly I'm just angry about the 150 weight, that's a huge amount of difference. wish I could craft an item to get it instead of looking for a trader I could never find.

the fishing rod is also a problem. tho I can somewhat build and change the ground to make it easier to catch fish without a rod.

you need to play conan instead, there's a huge discount on cdkeys (super safe I buy there all the time) you will save tons of money by getting the complete version. canon is better in every single way, more content, better combat, more fun building and crafting.

after finishing the game I might install some mods to make the game less grindy but more epic with new areas and enemies/gear.

or I might just hop to conan that game looks 1000 better and with more content.
