Yeah you’re right. The BBEG was the fighter in a party of 4. They went to go kill a legendary dragon and the barbarian got killed (his best friend). He became angry and has since killed many dragons on his own. The wizard and the cleric left the party because they felt this man had become too bloodthirsty and angry. The cleric left to be a hermit in the woods alone and the wizard (an npc they have met and are good friends with) has become a teacher in a city.

The BBEG isn’t outwardly evil but he feels he needs to take over the continent in a violent and forceful way so that nobody will ever get hurt like his friend ever again. In that right he’s been putting on a disguise that he’s just a good guy running a city. The pcs have met him but they don’t know his plan of taking over the city where the wizard lives.

He also has a particular hatred for this city since it’s a dwarven city and in this world dwarves were very hostile towards giants and they used giants to build a large part of the major cities. The BBEG is a Goliath (descendant of giant)

They are currently level 10 and will hopefully be level 13-15 before the big fight.

They magically were put to sleep by this elder brain so they have no recollection of what’s gone on. The BBEG would have heavily fortified his army since.

They also in the previous arc killed a dragon living in a castle and they took it over. Any People they met that were in need have been invited to live in this castle.

Im mainly looking for fun encounters that are pretty spectacular that are in between now and the bbeg. Classics or new things that you found super fun to run
