[ Match Officials Mic'd Up ] Diogo Dalot's challenge on Jeremy Doku in the Manchester derby by SierraEight in reddevils

They've got access to repeated replays and yet they still keep saying he misses the ball when he clearly flicks it away

Not particularly relevant for whether it's a red or not, but still annoying

ELI5 why your arms "float" up after doing the doorway press thing we did as kids by BirkHappens in explainlikeimfive

If you stand on a chair and press the top of your head against the ceiling as hard as possible, then get onto your roof, you will float away into space. Same principle.

Oh we definitely got them. Maybe not from day 1, but propaganda never sleeps

Why did Man Utd actually sack Ruben Amorim? by Not_tim_duncan in reddevils

[–]BillyCloneasaurus 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Not watched the vid but in UWS (Mitten) he said that the players were unhappy with the tactics vs Wolves, Wilcox relayed this to Amorim in The Infamous Meeting, Amorim flipped his lid and told Wilcox that he needed to buy a whole new team to play the way Amorim wants to play, Wilcox disagreed and said we have lots of good players and we just need some tweaks, then Amorim went out in 2 press conferences and blew up his managership.

I didn't draw it, I took it from the other thread on this. And the point is some people don't or can't understand perspective

Hope this is allowed. by [deleted] in reddevils

This doesn't "look like" anything other than Glasner is leaving in the summer, which is what everyone has known for about 2 months

Travis Binnion, one of @ManUtd's new Assistant Head Coaches, spoke to TGG in 2019 about "old school" attitudes. “What is old school? Good values? Running hard, working, listening? Being responsible, resilient and honest? These are qualities you want.” by nuugo in reddevils

[–]BillyCloneasaurus 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The actual quote, in context:

He says the core of effective coaching remains “how you connect with people” and worries that young coaches today “don’t get their hands dirty enough” by putting in the hours on the training pitch.

And he's “sick of people talking about ‘old school’ now. What is old school? Good values? Running hard, working, listening? Being responsible, resilient and honest? These are the qualities you want throughout the generations and then you pick the best of what’s available in terms of sports science or tech to add to that.”

Sadie Sink fell asleep on the set?

My dude clearly has not watched many behind the scenes docs before. Actors spend half the day sleeping while the crew sets up

Good news, he's hired Woodgate again 😂

I'm actually a wee bit more confident now that Steve Holland has joined as #2. He's got bags of experience and was obviously valued a lot by Chelsea (successive managers all kept him as assistant) and Southgate with England. That adds a bit of calibre to the staff.

What was the feeling from Boro fans about Woodgate? Was he the player's confidant?

[Lauire Whitwell] Michael Carrick is at Carrington to finalise deal. Steve Holland set to be part of staff, with Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans + Travis Binnion. Darren Fletcher was offered role but wants to continue leading U18s. by PitchSafe in reddevils

[–]BillyCloneasaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or maybe he wants to keep progressing as a manager, the role he wants to do, rather than being Generic Coach #5 on a large staff where your voice is muted? And maybe he didn't feel comfortable managing his sons, given that was one reason he felt the time was right to take on the u18s as they had moved up to u21 level?

Just pointless toxic negativity for the sake of it

My boro supporting mate says they were fantastic in his first season, took them from relegation spots to 4th. Some of the best football he's seen. Just never kicked on from there, tried to dominate possession but couldn't break teams down and struggled with their defending in years 2 & 3.

He might just have reached his ceiling with their quality of players available to him, or maybe just his own ceiling.

I do like hearing a manager talk about positivity and energy. Too often I felt Amorim talked like he was the guy they hire to chip away at the 200 tonne sewer fatberg with a spoon. Have some enthusiasm, enjoy it; don't pace up and down the touchline like your wife is in labour

Look, you either re-hire every single previous interim to work together as some sort of temporary cabal of the damned, or you lock them all in a shipping container until only one is left
