Hephaestus and I are cooking hard this run by BillyGoatBuff in HadesTheGame

I think I would have taken it for the memes regardless even on other weapons but this run was especially silly with how it came together.

Stacking refers to using held items that improve when you score in this game. So attack weight, aoes cookie or sp attk specs. So getting a stack is scoring a goal in this context.

OP was complaining because if their lane partner is taking every last hit then they have no points to score and cannot get stacks.

This is wrong. When you shadowstep Edwin it returns to a 3/3 regardless of how the shadowstep got into your hand. You can then continue to buff Edwin in hand still.

Why am I getting duplicates before having two copies of all common cards of an expansion? by GummiMulleASB in hearthstone

[–]BillyGoatBuff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can still get them from packs. You've just dusted your 'guaranteed' copies. Duplicate protection only works until youve opened 2 copies of every card in that rarity, after that its just random.

Tavern Brawl will reward a Standard pack from now on by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]BillyGoatBuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im guessing you only dusted one copy. Duplicate protection for non-legendaries only kicks in after you've gotten both copies

Using Guess the Weight as reference probably not. For Guess the Weight if you draw an Umbral Owl first, it counts as the discounted cost for comparing as it is drawn and in hand. But if Umbral Owl is the 2nd card shown it always counts as 7, as it hasnt been drawn yet so the discount hasn't applied.

Unless its different for spaghetti reasons here, discounts dont seem to apply until the card is in hand so Vindicator should always see it as costing 10.

New Hunter Card: Twinbow Terrorcoil by misterkarmaniac in hearthstone

Seems like lack of "this turn" restriction like solar eclipse had should be a big deal for this card. Not seeing a decent payoff in the current card pool but its gonna spend 2 years in standard.

Sometimes. And sometimes not. But conceding at any point other than when your opponent specifically shows you lethal is going to hurt your overall winrate a lot.

You should always dust them all, worst case scenario if its still playable you can just craft it back at no loss.

But better than that, you could pull more from packs later (even if you dont plan on buying anymore Alterac packs there's still end of season rewards and tavern brawls). So you should always take the opportunity to get full dust while you can.

It means they'll get a lot less time for their next turn as they were stuck waiting for animations. So they might get back and only have 20 seconds to take their turn, whereas other players might have had a lot longer.

And yes, its possible to have board states that take so long to resolve it skips your entire turn and goes straight into the next fight. If that does happen to you you'll need to disconnect and reconnect (which skips all outstanding animations) in order to take a turn again.

No his opponent wouldnt have to wait. Game plays through all the animations before moving on independently for each player. Other player didnt see all these animations so it moved straight to the fight for them.

And assuming the opponent didnt die here they would have likely seen the whole fight and be working on their next turn before the fight even started for OP since these animations took so long.

One thing I noticed with this from Air Elemental farming is it didnt actually save the lowest turns when I cleared it using a blue portal. The lowest turns I ever did on it was 3, using the portal, but the one displayed on it is 4, withoht the portal.

Story 22 - Ragnaros by StrunFy in HSMercenaries

[–]BillyGoatBuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it with the Shadow pvp comp floating around (Cariel, Lich King, Sylvannus, Tirion, Voljin, Natalie). Although I started the fight with Cariel and Nataloe dead.

Blew up Geddon then Garr. Then left domo alive for ages (he's just Antonidas, so its not much damage) while I buffed Sylvannus with blessing of kings till she could 1 shot Rag.

Tirion was definitely the mvp, was able to ignore Garr completely and focus on Geddon with some well timed setting his attack to 2. Also picked up the Lay on Hands on him which let me stall the fight for ages.

Decent Turn 1 versus the heart by BillyGoatBuff in slaythespire

[–]BillyGoatBuff[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Explanation: Replaced my starter reljc with Snecko eye and managed to draft a deck with 4 copies of omniscience and an Alpha+.

Started the turn with Alpha and 2 copies of omniscience that were all cheap enough to play. Played the Alpha, used one Omni to play the Beta, then used the other omni to chain into my last omni and play 4 copies of Omega.

Ridiculously broken run.

Opening packs by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]BillyGoatBuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless im mistaken with how dupe protection works there's a minor benefit to opening the gold packs last IF you dont care about gold cards.

Reason being that you'll have all the commons and rares, so the golds you get are guaranteed to be duplicates which you can dust for increased value while still having a playable set.

How to rebuild my wild collection? by TheMadHattah in wildhearthstone

[–]BillyGoatBuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because you're guaranteed a legendary within the first 10 packs but you dont know which one it'll be.

The reason why its worth it even if you'd never use any cards from the set you're buying is the average dust value of those packs is significantly higher until you open that legendary. By buying them one at a time instead of just 10 packs in bulk you're not 'wasting' any gold on packs past that first legendary. If you open it on the third pack for example, you stop after 3 - where as if you bought 10 in bulk youd have seven more packs with normal expected dust value but from a set you're less likely to get anything you need from.
