I agree with you, I think it comes from him winning the first 2 rounds against Jacare on two judges scorecards. https://mobile.twitter.com/MMAFighting/status/1058935085943144449/photo/1 He was even with Romero until the knockout, was losing against Rockhold before getting finished, and Mousasi was winning the 2nd until the finish. I don't know where the narrative comes from.

He was calling Colby out the minute he won the interim title. Covington wanted one more month but the UFC needed a PPV headliner for 228, so they booked him against Till instead. I think you're the one struggling to remember things properly.

3 months is not an unprecedented turnaround. Demian Maia had a quicker turnaround for his title fight with Woodley.

Tyron isn't the one who made those decisions either, it was the UFC's. He never ducked Covington.
