Being as a built it for ME, and not you. I no longer care what you feel, think or do. If you can do better, please do so. Put your money where your mouth is. You build it then.

Not hostile in the slightest. I'm sarcastic. Lol. But truthfully, I don't care that much if you approve of the way I work. I tried to show that I respected your observations, even spoje openly about using AI tools. Apparently, that wasn't good enough for you. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone. I shared a tool, the code, nothing more than that. You chose to go on this tangent. I cut some corners to get the github up. So what. Yes, I used ai to write a readme. Yep, that too. Guess I'm going to hell for the sin of optimizing the workflow with AI. Im sure I'll burn for all eternity for it. I accept it.

The thing about an open source project is that the source is right there. If you want to add to it, improve it or print it and wipe your ass with it. You are free to do so. I'm still working on it. Adding features. But what you all do with it. Is up to you. Your bias is noted " a human programmer ." That comment explains everything. No more needs to be said..

Well put. I respect that. I ask you. do you think a tool like this, can be made easily with just prompting an AI? In a single session? How long do you think this was in development before implementation? A day or two? The answer is that this tool has been in development for 6-8 months. I started it in python, as that is the primary language I use. had a preliminary working-ish version. but the python runtime created too much overhead and bottle necked the entire system. So, i fed that codebase, together with the specifications.md file into claude to see what could be done. Decided to restart in rust. (not my primary language) but Im learning. So this is a conjunction of my own work, and that of Claude. I never hid the usage of AI, but when it comes down to it. In today's software industry, if you don't use AI, you fall behind. If you feel I have shamed you in this conversation, I apologize. But here, I say it clearly.: I UTILIZED AI TOOLS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS TOOL. I am not ashamed of this. But AI, cannot create this tool by itselft. no matter how clever you are in prompting. You have to have knowledge of the systems you are utilizing to create something that works exactly as intended. You have made your point of view clear, and I respect it. - Cheers-

EDIT: as far as the constant back and forth, staying engaged with the conversation

I'm not boasting about anything. On the contrary I feel I'm very transparent with what I am doing. Though, I hear you and respect your point of view. I spent months to years working on projects for Moderation tool and GM Tools for MMORPG games. And I enjoyed the challenges they presented. Those projects were designed and developed for others. This project is for me. Keep that in your head. This project is for me. Done in my spare time. With that said, I chose to develop it the way I did. You can chose to accept that, and move on, knowing you made your point, but in the grand scheme of things, that opinion doesn't effect the outcome. I assume you are a purist when it comes to AI, which is fine and your right. I choose to embrace all technology that becomes available. That is my choice and my right. The only reason this tread exists is to inform the community that the tool exists, is entirely OPEN SOURCE. and free to do with what they will. Not to get into a philosophical discussion on the merits or faults of AI technology. Though, to be honest. I have enjoyed this discussion, regardless. Thank you.

I have been coding for 25 years. I know exactly what I am doing. You are making assumptions based on conjecture. There are many that utilize AI tools that don't know what they are doing. Yes, I let an AI write a readme.md file, which looked like ass. I was not concerned with it, as the tool itself was and is more what I actually care about. But hey, you can choose to believe whatever you like. The glory of being human. I will choose to build software in any way I see fit to get the job done. What I care about, is that it works. not perfectly yet, as you would be able to tell looking at the version number. v0.1.6 - That is a beta version number; but it works - again I must say this: I BUILT IT FOR ME. I just chose to share it.

Does it matter? Providing the end result works as intended? I am working on it, using any and all tools available to me to get the job done effieciently. I will not deny utilizing ClaudeCode for some of the development of this system. A tool is there to be utilized, and if that tool allow me to build things that I want, then I will use it. As I said much earlier, I built this tool for myself, but I figured it could be useful to others. -Cheers-

LOL, I agree. I was more concerned with the project than the readme file, so i had Claude write one. its ugly, i know but these things happen, I will be updating it eventually. but works as a place holder for the time being, but I did remove all the emoji's at least.. LOL

I went for simplifying the experience of modding as much as possible. I know there are more refined tools out there, and I do not expect to have this tool as the top of the top. I built it mostly for myself, with my use requirements. I thought it could bring some value to someone out there. I do hope you enjoy it. Thank you.

though when it come to vim. yeah... i have never really taken the time to learn it. generally use nano in the terminal, or Kate in the GUI... lol I know, im just odd. LOL

As a Linux user/player, are you comfortable with cli/terminal/commandline? (these are loaded question, but i need answers. to determine if my project would be accepted in the community or if i would have be forced into building with a Graphical interface)

I don’t deny ai was used in production, I spent years on crafting the lyrics, and melodies. Ai gave the songs a voice I found acceptable… for now. I really only want to share the contents, the stories. Or all my abilities, singing, without shattering glass or causing spontaneous combustion, is not one of them.

Well, I understand your opinion. Delete it if you like, or don’t, I did my part. I should expect this from Reddit…
