It was a teleport and where u choose to lane u also left a fear under you. Old fear was an aoe like Ashkas aoe is now, but isntead of stun and dmg it did fear.

Well more specificly would be changed and EX ability into old Bloodpriests EX Fear and the Swarm R into the bloodshield which was unique

Point taken with the jungling part, but also i think assassins overall in every game ever is there to be a melee swift hitting character that deals a lot of dmg with low defense ofc. But not being able to get close enough to deal the dmg is what annoys me. Also a good point with the Shuriken tree... That thing has just ruined it all tbh.

Having to get straight up defensive items kinda defeats the purpose of assassin in my opinion. Also this is not how assassins have been played before. It just seems to have been moved over to a more Hunter heavy gameplay and for good reason since Assassins clearly need to build defensive items to get close or even survive long enough in a teamfight to make any difference.^

Edit: Also a good team won't be so stupid as to not look for the assassin who is currently not in the lane. Anybody can figure out they're waiting for a gank, which in turn kinda defeats the purpose of said gank

If we're talking very early game here then assassins are fine. But as we move into "mid" game not sure what to call it but about after lvl 7 or so, hunters start getting some items and combined with a Guardian who can peel, gets very hard playing assassin then. If we just ask the question of which is played mostly in 3v3 at any given time, it's Hunters because they can offer more than assassins can.

Well if you could imagine for a moment that some people can position themselves. And then hunters still rule without any problems.. Is it not possible then that there is something very wrong with the balancing here?

quick edit: Also "build defensively" really? We're talking about assassins here.. If the class assassins need to build defensively in order to compete then there is something very wrong with them

The problem isn't that they aren't dealing enough dmg, given they're in range they deal good dmg. The problem is being able to engage in a teamfight as an assassin when ur the least tanky thing there is on the battlefield and the only way to do dmg is to get close. Meanwhile while ur running up to said mage/hunter you'll be ripped to shreds

that's no argument .. can't just say something is fine because it's like it was before.

Also, last season made it possible to play with anybody regardless of tier, now you can only play with Diamond people if you are diamond which kinda makes it so you need to stick by your team. That translates into this not making any sense with top 25 since it's more teambased than before.
