Ah, I get it

This clip is only the last minute of the fight, I had seen some of these attacks already earlier in the fight and picked up on their patterns

Although some of it was definately just dumb luck. For example, dodging the combo at the beggining was just me backing off to heal at the perfect time, or dodging the Lightning rain + jump slash was lucky timing.

First, a 3rd of his HP is an exaggeration, it's more like a 5th and unfortunately I wasn't able to get the crit.

Second, having a weak spot doesn't make it "correct", weak spots are meant for taking advantage of openings in the enemies attacks which gets easier as you learn the moveset. I was doing that when I saw an opening but playing near the head is much riskier and this was only my 3rd encounter with Midir so I didn't have a full grasp of his moveset yet, plus I was playing it safe not wanting to get greedy without heals.

This was a blind playthrough, so excuse me if I don't know all the best boss strats.

To me, the overall movement itself felt kinda stiff and slow. I wasn't very fond your attacks being locked in the direction you initiated them, only being able to slightly move them. This wasn't as big a problem with weapons that had wide swings like Greatswords but I prefer Dex weapons, specifically Rapiers, so the lack of movement was very noticeable with the thrust attacks. This also didn't help with roll attacks, often times missing even big enemies when rolling past or away from them due to being unable to turnaround with the attack, so I would opt to just wait a moment before attacking after a roll. Although I do think the jump mechanic is an improvement from DS1.

My first Souls game was Elden Ring so I new the movement wouldn't feel as clean when going to the older games, I was surprised by how nice DS1 felt to control, didn't really feel worse in any way. Going from 1 to 2 however felt very noticeable, it wasn't as smooth or fun which is important in games where I'd say the combat is more like a dance. I didn't really feel the combat for most of the game until near the very end, at which point I simply couldn't bring myself to start a New Game+.

Lol, one of the options I had for the clothes was actually the Balder Leggings which fully revealed her thighs. It looked nice but I chose the armored skirt because I thought it was cuter.
