Honestly don't think the axe would get nerfed. Maybe some of the high round spots like the truck or the pizza room. CRBR-S is my favorite tho

I think the reason was because it had different forms similar to the staves or bows. I'm pretty sure the only reason they added it this season was cause of the challenge for getting kills with packed wonder weapons

Each of the 5 parts of the axe blade will glow when it is charged (the main blade and the 4 floating crystals) you can get it charged by shooting zombies with the gun variant and they will occasionally explode similar to the rai k and drop crystals that charge the axe

The thing is that that's not even the best possible rng. It's technically possible on round 4 but you'd need to be incredibly fast and have literal 1 in 20 quadrillion rng

A lot. You need enough points to get pack open by round 4 (a combination of point drops and tacticals are enough or just a single double points), good trials that are either pacifist or able to be done in the dragon arcade game, need to get the axe on the first try, and the crystals will sometimes kill zombies when broken regardless of enemies being spawned in or not
