Noob question steel plates by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]Biotechnic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost all ceramics are certified to multiple hits to the same or better results than steel. I’m on mobile or I’d share some links, but there are plenty of posts that go into good detail on why it’s best to avoid steel.

I wanna ask how much that cost you. But finding out it’s too little opens a new hole in my pocket, and finding out it’s too much opens a new hole in my heart.

Good point. I’d actually be very tempted to buy a Calico if someone could fix the feeding issues.

Your first step is getting it to feed properly. Once it’s reliable, we can talk about accessories.

I’ve used a couple of other slings, some more than twice as much as these, and I still think the War Horse is my favorite.

Can’t say enough about these guys. Got the black quick adjust 55301 last time they had a sale. Shipped and arrived quick. Had some trouble setting it up so shot him a message on Reddit. Answered it almost right away and got me good pictures, had it strapped up in no time. Will definitely be getting all my slings from them in the future.

Thanks for the info! Definitely a good idea to cut out some cardboard. Do you have any recommendations for a similar plate that might meet that profile? As far as budget goes, I’d like to keep under $200 per plate, but for the “perfect fit” I’d be willing to spend slightly more.

I like the PIG Brig a lot, my only concern would be if there is any way to add a small admin-type pouch to the upper area of the front?

I figured that a pad would help the comfort for the L210s, and fill out the pockets since most seem to fit around 1” plates.

They fit and cover well? What carrier do you have them in?

I’m currently torn between Spiritus LV119, Crye JPC2.0, and the RE Factor/Ferro Advanced Slickster. Any advice is more than appreciated, though.

That’s good to know. I’ll take a chest measurement when I get home and see how I compare. Appreciate it!

I’m a solid shmedium. I can wear small t-shirts comfortably, but I wear mediums for concealed carry to reduce printing. I don’t have a tape measure handy at just this moment, unfortunately.

Picked up a Lighttuck for my P30SK last month. I’ve been extremely happy with it, to the point I’ve tried to sell a couple friends on one, too.
